"Pete replaced my aging Deck in August and from the first contact to the finish it was a great experience. Pete visited and discussed what & how he would do the work and I was impressed as how he explained it so clearly. He turned up on the Monday and the job was finished by the Friday. "Pete came highly recommended to us as 'the guy' to do our deck. On review of the comments on this site and the general comments we had heard - we were happy to give him a call. And man, were we happy we did!
Not only is the deck an outstanding quality and gives us that indoor / outdoor flow we wanted - dealing with Pete was also a pleasure. A great guy to talk to and we never felt we were putting him out by asking heaps of questions to get the deck just right. Pete's input was invaluable… and has left us with the perfect space for our property.

Towards the end of the build, Pete brought around some sample pieces that he had stained which made the whole 'choosing a deck stain colour' process that much easier for us. It was these little touches that made a huge difference.

We couldn't recommend Pete more highly!"

He was very easy to deal with and communicated well, especially when he would be on site and if he wouldn’t be there, usually weather related. "Peter did a full replacement of our deck and improved the design and features, including built in seating and a privacy screen. The one (too) large step was replaced with two manageable steps and a handrail, all in wood and fitting in well with the rest of the deck.
The previous deck was over 25 years old, not proper decking wood, and I think the output of a DIY handyman that owned the house before us.
Peter was recommended by friends, and we were very pleased with the results. Very… professional finish, good design and communication, and always friendly and polite."

"We put our house on the market and then discovered we had some code of compliance issues with our existing deck, built 16 years ago, which involved some serious remedial work. Pete was suggested to us as the man to go to for decks in Wellington, and I'm very thankful for that advice!
Pete provided a quote and spoke with the council inspector. He was always here, on time, when he said he would be, the invoice was as quoted, and our deck has passed its final inspection. All of this was done… within a very tight time-frame, as the house sold, subject to ccc.

Pete was also personally very easy to deal with, easy to talk to, and clear in his explanations of what was being done and why.

"Contacted Pete to reinstate a 4m long bridge over a stream that had been damaged when an arborist miscalculated the fall of a substantial tree. He submitted a drawing and a competitive price, chose the best wood and completed a very well built walking bridge in a matter of a couple of days. We had a deck built just under a year ago by a cowboy builder, (didn't know about this website then). We contacted Peter to ask for help and advice. He came out and inspected the deck we had and gave us various alternatives along with some really good advice about how to spot quality vs shoddy products. Peter gave us a very good quote for the work and was able to start very quickly so we could have it sorted fro Xmas. The job ended up being much larger… as the whole frame needed to be redone. Peter was professional throughout and his standard of work and client care (human and four legged) is exemplary. We would highly recommend his work, wether it is a new deck or fixing up an old one."

"Pete solved a very long term problem for us with the sloping corner of our section. He put a post on neighbourly advising that due to a delayed contract he had some time available if anyone wanted some work done. He came very promptly to advise what we could do and quote. Then the delayed job re-appeared and the weather gods had a very damp few weeks. Pete was worth waiting for – we now have a sizable outside room.
His subcontractor with the mini digger was amazing to watch – in… through a 700mm wide gate, with great care of the drive, lawn and house and by the end of the morning a large skip bin of dirt and the basic deck shape dug out.

Pete’s work is fast, accurate and very tidy. The work area was cleared every day. A few unexpected tweaks needed to deal with some challenges, cheerfully advised, agreed and actioned. Start to finish in less than 5 days. We’d happily recommended.Pete . What a quality job!"

"We contacted Pete to give us a quote to get a large deck built on the front of our house. We wanted something a bit different, and Pete came up with a couple of designs for us, he also had photos of previous decks he had built. We were very happy with the deck, it turned out to be quite complex with it's different platforms and stairs, we also had a spa that needed to be accommodated, and this was fitted into the deck really well with a trellis privacy surround. The deck meet all of… requirements and Pete always explained things as he was going, bad weather caused some delays, but Pete always communicated and explained any issues as he progressed through. "We contacted Pete just before Xmas for a quote and luckily for us he was able to fit it us in. Pete communicated well and was excellent in setting expectations which he always met. The work was to resurface an existing deck and in the process he had to replace some of the underlying supporting structure. Pete's quote was competitive and his workmanship exemplary. The work was completed on time with quality materials and nothing seemed to be too much trouble e.g. he washed all the stainless… steel nails.

We have no hesitation in recommending Pete"

"Peter did a huge repair/rebuild of our car deck recently and we are utterly impressed with the results.
We live on a difficult Wellington street and our neighbors commented how considerate he was as well as many positive remarks about the quality of his workmanship.
Peter is a great guy to work with, very transparent about costs etc and his experience and skills are very evident in his work.

"Cannot rate Peter highly enough. Clearly he is a craftsman with an eye for detail. The deck looks fanastic. Quote provided quickly, he had some great design ideas and the job ran to time. "Peter gave us a comprehensive quote and some good advice on how best to proceed with our decking job. He managed to find a solution to straighten and stengthen the exisiting deck and just replace what needed to be replaced. He didn\'t tell us to pull it down and start again like one of the other builders!
