The site the piano was moving into was challenging, so much that I was not sure it would be possible. However, they made it easy, they really knew what they were doing and there wasn't one scratch or bump to the piano. I would totally recommend them for anyone considering moving their piano. The price too was very reasonable given the nature of the move. They managed what I thought would be impossible with massive strength and power. The team were cheerful, polite and helpful, and got the job done in good time. They did not do a fixed quote but told us the basis of their charges. In the end the cost was about half what a big firm had quoted and that firm wanted a half deposit and balance a day before the move! Amoova were willing to insure the piano separately from the rest of our things,… which we just took standard carriers cover for as it was only a short distance. Really helpful that we could leave bedroom drawers full (the other firm quoting wanted them empty, so more packing!). The furniture was carefully loaded wrapped in Blankets and secured on the truck. This included a Steinway and a Knight upright piano. Nigel was very precise with his quote breakdown over the phone followed later with an email confirmation. I checked their website and seen photos of their piano moves and testimonies. I had other quotes but felt Amoova had alot of piano move experience so decided to go with them.
Alex and his team arrived on time, and told me to relax as they are here now ! I watched them expertly… wrapped my pianos with great care. They made it seem so easy.

At the destination, I watched Nigel very carefully used a 'spider' crane to gently lift both pianos over a high wall of earth before carefully getting them into the lounge - there they unwrapped the pianos in the designated locations.
They also move large household furnitures like fridges and spas, We wil definitely consider engaging them again in the future, and highly recommends them.
Just one word to describe this piano moving company- 'Exceptional' !

When they arrived, the team worked together incredibly well, with Nigel leading them. What stood out was how efficient they were but more importantly, how much care they took with the piano. So, I asked them to help me shift house a few weeks later, with the house we were going to having challenging access.
No kidding - these guys were like Removal Ninjas / Removal Super Heroes. I'm ridiculously protective… about my possessions but I didn't have to worry at all with them looking after things.

The weather that morning had been torrential so it had disrupted things prior to getting to us. To address that, they put on extra men and another truck, so we weren't affected and so they could still 'deliver' (excuse the pun) to their commitments later in the day.
They were under such pressure, they must have been screaming inside (I would be) but still, calm, polite, extremely careful, super fast and efficient.

100%"I would highly recommend Amoova for their very professional service. Amoova brought my Grand Piano down to Nelson from Auckland this week. The piano was first wrapped in Large padded satin blankets [would you believe !] and all parts of the piano completely sealed in fine plastic wrapping. It was very obvious right from the start that this company certainly knew how to securely move and re-assemble pianos. All care was taken from the time that they arrived and completed the re-assembly… of the piano - nothing was left to chance.
The service that Amoova provided gave me peace of mid following a serious debacle with Conroy removals. This company moved my previous piano between Northland & Nelson last year - the piano was moved down concrete steps at night ! on a trolley with one flat tire. The piano all but tipped off the small trolley and most of the concrete steps were badly chipped with the impact of the piano colliding onto the steps. The piano was wrapped in very dirty blankets and not well secured to the side of the container. The result was $42K - yes $42K worth of damage to the German Grand Piano.
I make these comments in the hope that no other pianos are put at risk with this company.
Essentially I would now never even consider using an alternative removal company - it is just not worth the risk for precious items let alone quality Pianos so my advice is just don't take the risk ! 98%"I hired Nigel and team for a complete pack and move from Wellington to Martinborough. Nigel initially came round and did a very thorough inspection, going into every cupboard and draw, prior to presenting a written fixed price quote. This was in contrast to a rep from another company who walked through the house and scribbled some basic calculations on a pad and quoted me a figure verbally for an hourly rate which in my opinion was too low to be realistic and later proved to be the case. The… pack and move actually took place over two days, on the packing day Nigel arrived with an additional 4 packers and after a briefing the packing commenced. The team were very efficient and made sure that my attention was drawn to any existing damage so there would be no dispute later. They used plenty of blankets and cling film to wrap large items and plain paper to wrap smaller items before packing in sturdy cardboard boxes that were clearly labelled as to content, location and care requirements.Wardrobes were packed into specialist cardboard wardrobes beds and other large pieces were disassembled. When all was loaded onto the lorry we arranged to meet in Martinborough at 9:30 the following morning. The following day I had an issue with my motorbike that meant I was delayed and didn't get to Martinborough until after 10:30, I contacted Nigel and he told me not to worry even ringing back to say the boys said to make sure I didn't ride too fast trying to make up time. When I arrived and let them in the unload commenced, beds were reassembled and furniture unwrapped, they even attached a mirror to a dresser that I hadn't done previously because it didn't fit in our old bedroom! Boxes were placed in the relevant rooms and I started to unpack the contents and when I finished not a single thing was broken or damaged.
All in all a very professional move for a very reasonable price and I would have no hesitation in recommending Nigel and team.

They started right off with a tour of the house and what was to be packed. A couple of the guys got to work before Alex and Nigel finished the tour. Everything was expertly packed and WELL LABELED--fantastic. All furniture was wrapped and tied or boxed. The next morning they delivered to the apartment. The building was going to require the… use of a scissor-lift. Amoova saved us a $1000 because they brought large pieces, like the couches, hand carried up the steps--avoiding the scissor lift charge. Some of the items were marked storage and they were taken to a storage locker outside the apartment. No mishaps and no problems. The guys did a fantastic job of packing everything in our house up. Taking the clothes out of the wardrobes and "finding" hidden items under cupboards.
We had a very difficult driveway at the other end that they navigated expertly and the unloading was done fast and efficiently.
Another great bonus was having the invoice sent to… us following the move and not having to worry about cash on an already stressful day.

They arrived at the old address on time, prepared to move my stuff to the big truck using a smaller van due to the length and access driveway. They did the same trick at the storage unit where I had temporarily stored a huge amount of timber.
They got to the new house in very good time and unloaded and unpacked stuff just where I needed it.
I would recommend them to… anyone - they may not be the cheapest option in the market but I think it well worth while to pay the extra for their quality.

I can\'t fault the complete package and experience - the pre-move information is comprehensive and easy to read, they are punctual, they work together as a team to perfection and work incredibly hard to get the job done (only a 10 minute break in seven hours!), every item was handled with care as if it was… their own and I was amazed how they can stack the stuff in their truck! 5 guys turned up bang on time and within 1 1/2 hours had cleared our house and loaded the truck! They were so fast, efficent and really friendly! They all introduced themselves to us individually and then did the same to each of my parents when they arrived! They completed our move in 4 hours, including an hour of travel out of Wellington. The pickup point had difficult down hill terain with un-even footing and the destinations overhanging meant they had to transfer our belongings from the the 12 metre truck to the van then into our house. This was done smoothly, showed they can handle any eventuality, and still had a smile… at the end.......and going the extra mile they even helped me rescue my cat from behind the existing wall oven at the new location!! hows that for service. They were an absolute pleasure to deal with, very competitively priced and took real pride in and care with the move of my baby grand up one of Wellington\'s worst walk ups - top marks to them.
I wish I\'d found these guys when we moved house. Even if their quote came back higher than another (which it didn\'t for me) I\'d recommend you take… it - you get what you pay for and these guys are high quality movers.

100%"Our removal was a little tricky in that it involved a driveway the large truck couldn\'t get down and it was a house swap i.e.the purchasers of our home were moving in on the same day that we were moving to their home.

Their quote was slightly more expensive than the other company I phoned, but I decided to go with them anyway as they seemed very professional. This turned out to be a great decision - you get what you pay for! They turned up on time, packed all of my belongings carefully but quickly, and managed the entire move without so much as chipping a plate. They were also firendly and had good communication… skills. As a result, this was the least stressful move I have ever had.
As an extra bonus, they had some very clever strategies for packing that meant I didn\'t have to pay for a whole load of cardboard boxes, and the information they sent in advance meant that I knew exactly how everything would be moved, and what I needed to do (or not do) in advance.

They were careful with everything - even going so far as to remove and then put back up later a basketball hoop on the garage so they wouldnt damage it with their truck.
They also were very helpful with the things we hadnt packed yet. Using them meant we could relax about the move and just let them get on with it. 98%"Amoova were excellent service and excellent value for money, provided same-day service and took care of my piano like their own! Communication was clear and pleasant, and I was kept updated on the move as it progressed. Pricing was more than competitive, but the service provided was excellent - I was very impressed with their specialist equipment for moving pianos and their competence with tight spaces and steep access. I had a piano moved for cheaper than would be have been possible through the local piano shop, which had previously moved it for me. Furthermore, the piano was well wrapped and protected, which had not been the case with other movers. They were easy to communicate with, made payment easy, and were very concerned with the safety of the piano. They brought plenty of movers to help with concrete stairs and navigating the piano around obstacles, and were… calm and careful with these conditions, while still working efficiently. Amoova formed in 2010 with experience spanning over 40 years.
What we do
Amoova are piano moving experts that also move furniture or those tricky items that need an extra level of care attention and some thinking outside of the standard relocation.
Very experienced removal team use techniques developed over many years to efficiently move full or partial households.
Amoova have knowledge of many factors outside of standard removal having staffing with experience in IT, general cartage and crane operation.
We can with confidence assess whether a crane or helicopter is in fact needed and in doing so save you potentially thousands of dollars.
We have experience in moving safes.
