6 months agoI brought my car to Auto Clinic for a WOF and repairs, but I was disappointed with how things turned out. My front bumper was damaged during their handling of the vehicle — it was not cracked beforehand, and now I’m left dealing with the cost and stress of fixing it.
They also failed my WOF for a front shock leak but didn’t mention this to me at any point during the earlier repair work or the phone call. Only when I arrived to collect the car was I told.
The lack of communication and the damage to my bumper left me very unhappy with the service.
Update: Hi Pacha, I’ve seen your response and need to correct a few things immediately:
1. Yes, the bumper had a small existing crack — but it was NOT in the condition you returned it in.
Before dropping the car off, the bumper was secure and not hanging, not torn open, and not split further.
I have time-stamped photos proving the exact condition on the day I arrived.
What I picked up from your shop was significantly worse damage.
So claiming “we did not cause this” is simply not accurate.
2. The bumper only became unsafe AFTER your workshop handled the car.
I drove daily, including motorway speeds, with zero movement or issues.
The only time the bumper was hanging off was after your staff worked on the vehicle.
That’s not a coincidence — that’s mishandling.
3. Failing the WOF for a shock leak but not telling me until pickup is unacceptable.
If this was identified earlier, I should have been told before the WOF was processed.
This is not optional — it’s a requirement under the CGA to inform customers of faults before completing a service.
Your explanation does not address the lack of communication.
4. The CGA is clear: returning a vehicle in worse condition = not using reasonable care and skill.
I am not saying anyone intentionally damaged anything.
But the reality is the vehicle was returned with new, worse damage, and that falls exactly under CGA service failure.
5. I’m open to resolving this, but I won’t accept blame-shifting.
Your response focuses on deflecting responsibility instead of addressing the evidence.

This photo shows the bumper BEFORE the workshop touched my car. The crack was minor and held tightly with cable ties. It was NOT split open like it is now. The major tearing and the piece hanging off only happened AFTER their handling.

2 months agoBooking the appointment was very easy and quick. I was able to get a service appointment already for the next day, which was great. The staff was friendly and the car was even washed and cleaned, which I really appreciated.
However, what disappointed me about the service itself was the lack of communication. The checklist shows that several things were inspected, such as the tyres, brakes, and windscreen wipers. But nobody actually explained the condition of the car to me.
For example, the windscreen wipers are clearly worn out and should probably be replaced, but this was never mentioned. The front tyres are also quite worn, especially the right front tyre, and it would have been helpful if someone had pointed that out and advised when they should be replaced.
The same applies to the brakes – they were checked according to the report, but nobody explained their condition or whether they will need attention soon.
Cleaning the car is a nice extra, but the most important part of a service is proper feedback about the condition of the vehicle. Unfortunately, that part was missing, which makes the service feel somewhat pointless. -
2 months agoFirst time taking my car to Auto clinic and all I can say is 10/10. Erica the receptionist was very friendly and helpful. They gave me a courtesy car to use for a few days while my car was there getting fixed and would inform me about my cars status via call or email. The quality of work done to my car by the mechanic was hands down immaculate. Not only did he fix my power steering pump and change my drive belt, he also cleaned my engine bay and replaced the plastic pins that hold down the cover that goes on top of my engine and also replaced other plastic pins that was missing free of charge. These guys take very good care of cars that they repair with a high standard, I highly recommend them and will be using there mechanical services again.

4 months agoSuper clear communication, professional service, and extremely helpful. They allowed me to drop my vehicle off just before their Christmas break and drive a courtesy vehicle even though they weren’t able to work on my car for about two weeks. Saved me over the holiday season! My transmission replacement was reasonably priced and hassle free. Awesome service.

3 months agoI had my car repaired yesterday. I'm very satisfied with their repairs.
In my extensive experience, the Auckland Auto Clinic is the most professional and trustworthy. They're always friendly and explain the cause of my car's problem and what needs to be fixed. My car is always in perfect condition after the repair. And their prices are very fair. I highly recommend them, and I'm sure you'll feel the same way once you get your car repaired there.
