"Our house was significantly damaged by the recent floods in January. The bottom floor was completely flooded out. The insurance claim is still being processed, however some damage was assessed as not being caused by the floods. Ekram has already completed the work not covered by our insurers. His workmanship is of the highest quality. He is very skillful, knowledeable and always goes above and beyond. He even cleaned our shower, that had not been used since the floods. We have used Ekram in other projects around our house and found him to be reliable, punctual, honest and truthful. We will always guarantee Ekram's work. "It was very short notice, Ekram turned up on way home after work to assess the job. He was punctual, very friendly and approachable. After assessment he gave me Quote which I was happy with. He fitted me in after 2 days (record time). Completed not only the initial job but carried out a couple of other minor jobs. So he fixed my side gate, locking system, put in new post for gate, re-enforced part of a fence and hung 2 pictures in the hallway. Very transparent, proficient, methodical, clean and tidy. "Ekram and his team did a fantastic job repairing an old 1st floor deck that had fallen prey to severe rot (and was frankly structurally unsafe). He is clearly very knowledgeable and carefully reviewed the deck, identified potential safety issues and formulated a plan to fix the problems. Throughout the process, Ekram kept me updated and was very reasonable with additional costs when the repair turned more complicated (through no fault of their own).

"Ekram was faced with a difficult job dealing with replacing fascia boards on a sloping roof. He did a magnificent job. The house looks 100% better. He removed the old boards and painted the new boards prior to installment. He replaced the underside of the decks, pointing out where the previous builder hadn't waterproofed the underside correctly. His english has improved greatly from when I first dealt with him around 2 years ago. He was upfront on any changes and cost implications. I find Ekram to be a trustworthy and competent builder."

"Overall very disappointed with the overall experience with Multi Maintenance.

After finding Multi Maintenance on NoCowboys with excellent reviews I requested a quote for a new gate at a rental property after the existing gate was damaged beyond repair during a storm. I also requested remediation of existing leaking and out of level gutters. Ekram provided me with a prompt quote response which included the following:
1. Remove existing gate and any rubbish
2. Install new gate like existing
3. Clean and wash all gutters
4. Replace joiner on gutter

This is where the problems started.
1. Existing gate was removed as quoted, however property was left a mess when Multi Maintenance left (post excavation spread over lawn, concrete over pour, wood cuttings).
2. New gate was installed, however this was done to a very low standard of workmanship including reusing parts from the old gate, using "packing" plywood which was rough cut and splintered and not painting the gate black to match existing gate/fence (when questioned Ekram stated this was not included, even when i noted it was not specifically excluded from the quote).
3. Gutters were not fully cleaned, only in sections
4. Instead of replacing existing joiners and gutter sections, new joiners were inserted into existing runs leaving a very untidy and uneven finish (with varying falls).

On top of this Ekram was extremely rude to our tenant, was rude and dismissive to me when questioned about the quality, did not remediate defects/mess.

"Ekram did a fantastic job to tidy up our rather old and tired bathroom. His work was very good and his prices were fair - the work was mainly re-grouting, painting, installation of new vanity and replacement of rotten floor boards.
Ekram managed to match replacement timber which was extremely close to the rotten 75+ year old karui floor boards.

He did what he said he would do and went above and beyond helping out with a couple of minor repairs around the house. A nice guy and great work.
We highly recommend him and plan to use his services again when we move to our new house."
