"We had a problem with the vented plumbing in the roof cavity of the house. I sent Mike photo's and his advice on the existing plumbing set up. The original work had not been carried out correctly. After having the exterior vent looked at the design of it meant there was no way that was the issue. After monitoring the issue for a few weeks, we came to the same conclusion as Mike and had the plumbing set up taken out and replaced. "

came back to me quickly. I sent photos and he quoted from the photos.
I had also asked other NMC to quote so asked Mike to wait.
The other firm went on site and quoted same as Mike but could do the job on the spot so got the work. Want to commend Total because I had found very poor response from roofer repairers."

"Total Roof did a great job of repairing a leak in my roof. Communication was excellent, and they did the job when they said they would. Mike visited site, diagnosed the problem, and took me through the different options to fix it. In the end we went for the long term fix to the problem which involved doing some extra work rather than a simple fix. Now some months later and with record rainfall the roof is doing its job and the house is completely dry.
Our property has a unique design so it… was not the easiest to diagnose or work on. But the team did a great job and we are happy with the result. Would recommend."

"Mike was asked by me to evaluate a roofing job in the process of being completed by another contractor. The job was not going as expected and I needed a "disinterested" person to evaluate and advise. This Mike did with impressive response time and congenial manner. Plain language advice and counsel was given that allayed my concern and put me on the right track. Although I booked it in as a paying job, Mike was in the area and saw fit not to charge. I appreciated this of course but… appreciated efficiency and expertise more. His company is now on my database. I own another property in the area."

"Chris Vowles, of Total Roof and Property Maintenance, came to the rescue after my roof sprang a leak in two places during heavy rain, and a “cowboy” I’d hired in desperation had done a botched repair using sealant. Chris got up on the roof, expertly diagnosed where the leak originated, and did an on-the-spot repair followed by a “top up” with a spare piece of roofing iron. This was a huge relief because rusty water had got inside and run down the wall. Chris followed up by sending… photos of the roof and a detailed report describing its condition, what he’d done to make it weather tight, and advising what needs to be done within a future timefrane. Throughout the process, he was immediately contactable and responsive, as well as highly skilfull. The invoice was very reasonable. Three months later and despite heavy rain, the repair is intact. "Absolutely stoked with the job that Mike's roofing team did replacing a section of roof. Job was scheduled within a week, the guys pitched up as soon as the rain cleared somewhat and they worked quickly, neatly and efficiently, and cleaned up after. "Mike first visited my property in Torbay before Christmas 2019. I had a leak and Mike checked the roof and sent me a report of where he thought the problems where. It was the best consultancy report I've ever paid for - well worth it because Mike listed the key problems in a straight forward manner, provided photos and outlined his recommendations. I didn't know much about roofs but I understood what Mike was telling me.
Over the course of the following months, I carried out a roofing… project and used Mike for a few of the jobs on the list. Mike's team did a thoroughly professional job. I live in the UK so I was reliant on them keeping me in the loop. Mike took my early morning calls, no problem, and always kept me across what was happening on site. He also watched over the other contractors for me and helped out where he could from a communication perspective. If I'm being honest, I don't think Mike charged me enough. He was outstanding and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him. I know I will never buy another house in NZ without having Mike check the roof over."

"I rang Mike to have an assessment on my roof to see if I needed any work done on it due to the big winds that have been occurring in recent times.. I was so impressed when another Mike came and took pictures of the rusty tiles where the hot water and overflow pipes had leaked. He then came back a couple of days later and replaced the rusty tiles and put new metal surrounds around the overflow pipes. Most impressed with the cost and the photos showing where the new tiles had been replaced.… Would absolutely recommend this company for the excellent service they provide."

"4 working days before Christmas I came home from work to find the front entrance inside the house leaking water. I panicked and got onto the internet to suss out a roofing company who may be able to help. Total Roof answered my enquiry but stated they were flat out prior to the Christmas break; I understood this and decided I would have to make do with towels on the floor and a bucket until the holiday break was over and the company was back at work. Dismal thoughts really but to my surprise… I had a call from Total Roof while I was at work asking me how many steps from my front door to the leakage. I told them I was at work but they said it didn't matter, they would come out to my area and get on the roof. They took photos and emailed me to say the leakage was fixed. They had removed roof tiles, saw that the valley and spouting were blocked. They cleared the higher and lower roof areas of the build-up of dirt and debris to allow correct water flow. I was so grateful and blessed them for their prompt service at such a busy time of the year. I have no hesitation in recommending this company to anyone with roofing problems. They are efficient, professional and aim to please the customer. A big thank you to Total Roof from me."

"I noticed a broken roof tile on a rental property inspection and this had left a large hole in the roof. The inspection was 5pm on a Friday. "We had an intermittent roof leak that, as it was a drip/dribble type, was challenging to locate. Mike was excellent at communicating and solving the issue. The weather was against us but at each time we had to postpone (due to rain and safety) he would give an alternative date and kept in touch. Mike solved the problem by replacing flashings. "Get these guys to do your job!
We had an urgent need for a roofer due to unexpected damage caused during a renovation. Mike provided a quote over the phone based on tasks and arranged for Mark to come out. Mark turned up and completed the job and provided some advice on other issues on the roof I should remedy.
A small crack in the corner of a tile was missed, but this was not visible from above and was only noticed because of the heavy rain. Mike had Mark back in a flash, without… question.

Mike and Mark really saved my bacon and didn't overcharge me."

"This guy is absolutely useless. Have been waiting for over three months for a very simple and straight forward roof repair. He has been provided with a detailed report of the situation by a registered building inspector and still fails to respond to phone calls and emails. I have even called to his house to find the place empty and vacated. Do not bother wasting your time with him as the response you get will be zero. He obviously sets himself a very low standard of communication with his… customers and then fails to achieve it."

"The work on the roof was done on 24th April after heavy rain that week.I made contact with Mike as soon as the leak sprouted and we kept in contact throughout the week for a perfect day when he could go up the roof. Mike identified the cause [4 roof valleys needed clearing] when he came and quoted me a fee which was very fair.I am glad to recommend him as professional and a man with integrity."

"Mike and his team were fantastic. Fast reply, came out within days of initial enquiry. He checked out the roof and was honest to a fault, recommended replacing the roof (which he doesn't do) rather than spending money fixing the multiple possible causes of the leak. He managed to put a patch on for the meantime until we can afford to replace the whole thing. Really appreciated his honesty as he could have easily made a lot of money but didn't take advantage. Would highly recommend this company… and will be using them in future for any property needs."

"Mike and his team are simply fantastic. They went out of their way (literally) to come and find the leak and returned the next day (Saturday) as promised to repair it. Undertook a quick roof inspection as well. Fixed a few issues at no extra cost and advised on future maintenance. Excellent service. Recommend without hesitation."

"I needed somebody to repair my leaking roof urgently. Mike arrived the next morning at the time he said he would. He found the cause of the leak very quickly and repaired it. We have had heavy rainfall over the last few days and my roof has not leaked. I can certainly recommend his work."

"After the Southerly storms in December we found water leaking into our lounge. Mike replied to our enquiries promptly, scheduled a time to come and look at the problem as soon as he could, arrived on time , then found the cause of the leak really quickly.

Very friendly, courteous service and great communication, Total Roof followed up after the first heavy rains to ensure I was happy with the repairs.
