"I got in touch with AAAS because of the high ratings and great feedback they have on NoCowboys, but I regret to say that my experience has been poor.

We'd had Freeview for around 3 years and it had worked perfectly, but suddenly we started getting heaps of pixelation and the signal would frequently cut out for a few seconds at a time, producing a "no signal" message on the screen. It was happening in the lounge and the bedroom, making most channels quite unwatchable. We figured that the aerial had somehow moved and needed realignment so hired AAAS.

Rob fitted some kind of booster to the TV in the living room, charging me close to $200. It didn't fix the problem at all, on either TV.

I got in touch and to be fair, Rob did come by a second time to check things for no additional charge, visiting when my wife was home but I was in work. Apparently he spent less than 5 minutes in the house, used a signal meter to check the signal strength and left. He didn't wait around to observe the problem, never bothered to get in touch with me to explain anything, and I'm now $200 out of pocket and still have the problem.

I find this totally unacceptable - I would have expected an expert to at least take the time to observe and diagnose the problem. The fact that we'd been using Freeview for 3 years with no issues also makes me question why I was charged for a booster that has not resolved the problem."

"It is disappointing that Mark has chosen this forum and manner to let me know things aren't 100%, rather than contact me directly as requested. I was engaged on this job to rectify a problem with someone elses installation. When completed there was a huge improvement in signal, with significant margin in all measurements of the data stream., so I was surprised to be contacted some time later and told they were still experiencing problems with reception. I returned and found the TV working fine and all signal parameters very robust. Because the picture on a TV dosen't give a true and accurate indication of signal condition, a fault can usually be traced using a meter, but as stated, all parameters were very good, so there was nothing I could do without the fault manifesting. I explained this and left, but asked to be contacted if the problem re-occured so I could return and get it sorted. My policy is to not "over install" i.e. instead of replacing all previously installed components, to only do what is necessary. Sometimes this requires multiple visits (at my expense). Likewise, when a fault is intermittent like this I doubt he would want to pay me to sit and watch his TV waiting for the problem to occur."

"I cannot recommend this business too highly. My TV3 reception had recently become unusably bad, and having looked at my antenna I was fully expecting to need a new one. I called Robert on Monday morning, and he said he would call back that evening to make a time for Tuesday morning. He called exactly when he said he would, turned up the next morning exactly on time, and diagnosed the issue quickly. Instead of fitting a new antenna, he was able to fix the problem with a single cable tie, at what seems to me the extremely modest cost of $80 in total for his time and labour. TV now works like a charm, and I could not be happier with Robert's work."

"I found Rob from this site so I feel I need to provide feedback. He arrived on his phone, and left on his phone. He drilled a hole through my ceiling by not paying attention to the fact I had a pitched ceiling and no cavity in the lounge/dining, that\'s after he came into that area minutes earlier, then said in response he always looks down. I suggest looking up next time perhaps. He then went to the aerial jack in the master bedroom, and cut an electrical cable, blowing the fuse, spending 30 minutes sorting that out, after subtly suggesting I could do it myself. He accessed under the house using an unfinished wardrobe we have, and left the area covered in dirt. He was a day late, and constantly on his phone. For the effort, he didn\'t charge me 30 minutes labour, which equates to the time he spent trying to fix his cable cutting antics! Pretty poor considering the damage to my ceiling without offering to fix it or cleaning up after himself. I aked him a question about the aerial\'s and he launched into jargon that lost me, so I gave up, I just wanted him out before he broke something else. Saying that you\'re having a mare doesn\'t make things better. If you want to keep customers satisfied, make more of an effort to address your poor performances and go the extra mile to achieve customer satisfaction. You told me you wanted to get on the road before 4 to beat traffic, however I suggest you pay attention to the job you\'re doing, not the next job calling your mobile. I won\'t use you again, and I won\'t recommend you. Pay attention when you\'re working on someone elses house, hire more staff if your phone is distracting you from the job at hand and show common courtesy in my house."

"First up I must once again apologise to Leon for what happened - I can understand him being upset, however I would like to take this opportunity to clarify a couple of points. When I realised what I had done I was devastated and immediately apologised. Leons response was not to worry, it was a small hole and it would be easy for him to get up and plaster over it. The cut cable I could fix and I was not leaving until I had rectified it even though he offered to take care of this also. What I actually said was \"I guess my focus is down at the tv and job at hand, not looking up checking out your house.\" I didn\'t see any mud on the carpet when I left as I had laid cardboard down to prevent any mess. The only mud would have been on the doormat. Due to circumstances beyond my control I did arrive a day later than originally set, but I had notified them of this. I am no different to anyone else - despite best preperation and care accidental mishaps can happen. To happen twice on the same job is extraordinary and I would hope it would be a very long time , if ever, before anything like this happens again. "

I have had 2 lots of so called TV aerial installation companies around to my house to look at the job and they gave me misleading info about where the UHF aerial was to be installed and then simply didn\'t even get back to me with a price. When i finally got on to Robert he answered his cellphone straight away.I gave him my details and true to his word he phoned the night before he came over and I met him at home the next day to show him the job as I had pre wired most of the installation myself so knew where things were. He installed the new aerial exactly where I had wired to without having to go to a higher roof and got my complete TV system up and running. I can\'t speak more highly of him as I have a team of instrument technicians that I having working in major industries in Auckland and I look at tradesmen that come to my house very closely. "It is unfortunate that Mr and Mrs Fong have failed to appreciate how much extra time was spent dealing with unforseen problems over & above what the initial estimate was based on. Firstly, it took a very long time to locate the cables in the ceiling cavity as they had been buried under batts instead of being tied up to a truss, & also hadn\'t been taken to a central point so had to be found individually. Secondly, on completion of installation I connected & tuned tv and noticed they had a hard drive recorder (non-digital) so would be unable to now record,(I suspect most installers wouldn\'t notice, care, or say anything about this) and yes they wanted to be able to continue to record. This would require the addition of a vhf aerial.They had a very old aerial there that required parts and time spent on it, and was able to be re-used. When you are expecting a job to take less than an hour, these sorts of issues greatly impact on relative total time spent. It should also be noted that the price given to them by another installer from this site for the same job description was approx 30 percent dearer."

"Top service! I was pleasantly surprised. After doing renovations on my home over the last 18 months, I have used and been in contact with many tradesmen and have been bitterly disappointed time and time again. "Top quality service, for a great price.

We had our aerial fall down in a storm from quite a high roof. Early on a Monday morning the aerial technician was there, carefully taking the old aerial down and finding the best place to put it back up so the same wouldn't happen again. He was focused on doing a good job that would stand the test of time, and when we got the bill,
we couldn't believe what value-for-money his fantastic, friendly,
quality-focused service was.

"Robert was great! I needed extensions for 2 bedrooms and dining room. Firstly, he was very accomodating as I had to change arranged times and he was very courteous through the whole process. Secondly, he has an excellent workmanship and this shows in his professionalism. Thirdly, I got absolute full value for the price charged. Hence, one very happy satisfied customer!
