"i would highly recommend Andrew of AJ oaks Bldrs Ltd and would give them an A+ Rating. From the very first meeting we were highly impressed with his knowledge of the building industry. He was up front, didn’t try to pull the wool over our eyes and we felt confident with our choice to engage him to do our renovation without getting other quotes.
The renovation was to a 90 yr old home which came with a few unforeseen variations/problems that took longer to rectify and also affected the cost of the project. Andrew gave advise when required and helped with decision making when asked - nothing was too much trouble.
I am sure whoever employs Andrew of AJ Oaks Ltd will not be disappointed or have any regrets - he is an excellent builder and trust worthy. i would highly recommend and give him an A+ rating."

"i called Andrew after hours on a long weekend after wind blew out a window at a rented property i manage in Newlands. He was easy to talk to and fast to respond, fixing up a part of the damage and then boarding up the hole where the window frame had been. simply brilliant response, very highly recommend!"

"We engaged Andrew and team to do an extensive extension and renovation of our property, in two phases over a three year period. The workmanship was outstanding with many tradespeople commenting as such over the time. Andrew was fantastic at pointing out things on the plans that weren’t practical (like moving a door to make a room more functional), made some really good suggestions to improve on my ideas, and was okay with it when I said no (which wasn’t often). What I loved about working with Andrew was that no problem I through at him was too hard. He thought about and came up with solutions every time. Andrew at times went the extra mile for us, like convincing a plumbing store to make a one off cabinet so that it match the other cabinets we had), and was an awesome sounding board when I was concerned about the work of other tradies. Andrew’s communication was great, he never spent money on anything outside of scope without approval, and his staff are awesome. After 3 years it was hard to say goodbye!!"

"Andrew and his team did some work building decking steps and repairing some weatherboards. The weatherboards turned out to be more work than expected as there was rot underneath.

Throughout the job, they had great communication, were friendly, workmanship was great and they were very conscious of cost blowout/finances due to extra work.

At the end of it all we felt like we had found our go to builder for future work. Couldn't be happier"

"Andrew and Josh renovated our bedroom for us. Andrew was the only builder (out of 5) that we spoke to that was straight up with us about the consent requirements for what we were getting done. He was a bit dearer than the cowboys, but that extra price came with a top rate job with no corners cut. They did a great job, and I would highly recommend AJ Oaks Building."

"Andrew did renovations to my kitchen and dining room, as well as a number of smaller jobs around the house. Andrew came in within the quoted range even though there was work not on the original scope of work. His entire team were professional and did a great job. "I emailed AJ Oaks about the problems with our property at 9pm. I got an email reply at 11pm. Nicola explained why they could not help us but provided a comprehensive email and advice what to do next. I further talked to Nicola the next day and she was very helpful explaining things to me. "Andrew was very knowledgable, communication was very clear ie possible risks that could happen that may cost extra (ie installation of windows could cause damage to wood panels above window - Andrew was very careful and no damage done) and was able to complete a difficult task of fitting the windows into spaces. Also installed our rangehood and small section of skirting board. All done to a high standard and cost of job was very reasonable/affordable. I thoroughly recommend Andrew for any building work, window and rangehood installation."

"We wanted to build a new porch and renovate the bathroom and shower room - Andrew gave thoughtful advice and helped us reach a decision. His work, and that of the sub-contractors (especially the tiler) was very high quality. He communicated with us throughout. It took a little longer than expected, mainly due to delays from suppliers. We are very very happy with the finished result! Andrew gave us a quote for the work which indicated a range - we ended up buying some of the materials direct, the final total bill was within the range. Would definitely recommend Andrew."

"Andrew arrived on time and was able to give me helpful advice to bring our bathroom into the 21st century. He took into consideration my requests and did the additional work required without costs going too far over what I had budgeted. Andrew was professional and kept me informed of all trade people moving in and out of my house while I was at work.
The only downside to the renovation was what initially was suppose to take 1.5 weeks took 3 weeks. This was mainly due to the late arrival of the shower unit which put all the trade people behind the eight ball. Earl the plumber was invaluable as he talked me through what was economical, ecological and above all practical units to purchase.
I would definitely use Andrew again his workmanship and eye for detail was excellent. Thanks for our modern bathroom."

"These guys are young, energetic, onto it and straight up 100 per cent honest. My work replacing a mass of rotten weatherboards came in at the lower end of their quoted range - even after some nasty unexpected rottenness was discovered. A slight mis-communication re the building notices put in neighbours letterboxes, but otherwise they kept in touch every step of the way and did everything they said they would. Their apprentice even cut up my old weatherboards into small pieces for firewood! I would absolutely use Andrew and Nichola again. They are great at what they do but more importantly they are thoroughly nice people."

Andrew very quickly identified the problem causing my door frame to leak and fixed it very efficiently. "The job was well done at short notice. It was a small job - a hole in the ceiling which needed patching. Everything was done on time as expected. One minor difficulty was that we expected the plasterer contracted to finish off to turn up on a particular day, but he was delayed until the next day. It wasn\'t a problem for us though, and AJ Oaks Building had warned us that it might happen due to the short notice. A quick text message and everything was sorted out for the following day.

I will be using their services again in the future! Highly recommended."

"Excellent job at an excellent price. Quote was for a possible range and despite extra work the total price was within the range. Couple of minor hiccups with communication (delay in getting the right suppleis) but overall communication was very good and some of the best I have experienced from trades people. Definitely on my list to use again if needed."

"Andrew did a fantastic job, fixing problems that had arisen with doors sticking where new carpet had been laid. I had initially thought it was only a problem on a single door, but Andrew correctly identified all doors needed fixing which was a great help. Andrew had all the tools to do the job (including a vacuum cleaner to clean up the debris afterwards) and worked quickly and confidently.
I would recommend A Okay Building to anyone - Andrew is lovely to deal with as well as being a very professional, skillful builder."

"Andrew was able to figure out what was structurally wrong with our front bedroom very quickly - essentially rot due to a poorly converted porch. The extent of the damage was a little tricky to determine, but Andrew worked above and beyond what you would normally expect, and delivered a first class result. The new weather boards, window-frame and detailing look fantastic. We will definitely be using him again and highly recommend A Okay to anyone needing good craftsmanship. On a personal level, we found Andrew hardworking, reliable and trustworthy - all in all a good bloke!"

"We needed to have a couple of rotten spots in the window sills of our 100 year old villa cut out and replaced in a hurry as we had house painters on site. A Okay came, provided us with a written quote and undertook the work all within a couple of days. The workmanship was very good and the work extremely competitively priced. This was not an easy job and it was completed in a very craftsman like manner."

"We had a leak in two rooms. Over a period of a month we had three builders and a roofer who either weren\'t sure of the problem or did fixes like silicone on the outside. It was getting worse so we called Andrew who was a saviour because within half an hour he\'d looked inside and outside of the house and located the problem. It was a leaky pipe which he obviously wasn\'t able to fix, but at least he found the problem, took the ceiling off and put a new ceiling back on after the plumber did his bit. The work was completed to the highest possible workmanship and everything was cleaned and tidied afterwards. He even brought down a vacuum cleaner from his van to vacuum everything up, which we were very impressed with! We are happy customers and very grateful to him for locating this problem and would immediately call him for any future work and thoroughly recommend him as he clearly knows his stuff."
