"I was ringing around plumbers on a Tuesday and I only chose these guys because they could come on Friday rather than the next week.

Friday rolls around and they don't show up. I called them an hour after the plumber was supposed to arrive and they were all like "Sorry they got called to some other urgent job". They did not give me the impression they were even going to bother telling me they weren't coming if I hadn't called them.

I rescheduled for Wednesday of the next week because I figured at this point I wasn't going to get another any sooner than that. Once again they didn't show up. Once again I had to call them to find out why they weren't there. This time the office lady was like "Oh, sorry, that must be my fault. I must have moved it to Friday and didn't tell you. They'll be there around 10:30-11am." At this point I was pretty annoyed at these clowns but also still really needed a plumber.

Friday rolls around again, and the guy shows up on my doorstep at 9am, well before I was expecting him. I saw that these guys charge by the quarter of an hour so I started a stop-watch when he arrived. It was a small job fixing a leaky pipe under the sink, but the guy decided to replace the whole trap. It took him a little over half an hour, then he was like "oh, the sink and bath aren't draining properly, let me plunge them." I agreed because it seemed reasonable; he was still out of there in under 45 minutes.

When I get the bill I see that they've charged me for a whole hour. And that the prices they have charged for materials are through the roof. No wonder he wanted to change the trap. I would estimate these guys charge about double the retail price on all materials based on searching for similar components online.

When I tried to dispute how long they'd been there, they said "no, look, we have GPS data which shows that he arrived at this time and left at this time". So basically the guy went and sat in his van outside my house for 10 minutes after I thought he'd left just so the GPS data would show him sitting there and they could whack an extra 15 minutes labour on the bill. I'd watch out for them doing that if you have any dealings with this company.

Personally I would never deal with these guys again. They are unreliable, overcharge and lie."

"Sam arrived right on time and was very pleasant to talk to. Other than to say my bathroom floor was wet around the toilet area I could give no further information. Sam checked thoroughly and quickly let me know the problem. He had to take the toilet out to make the repair which was done quickly and cleanly. After testing and tidying up Sam left with no signs that he had been other than no more leak. All done in under the hour."

"Paul did a great job - an efficient and likable guy who explained things as he went along. He checked the hot water cylinder and explained the problems caused by the original installer and also fixed the pipes and taps over the kitchen sink - hot water was connected to the cold pipe and cold to the hot pipe by original plumber - so that the tap then turned the correct direction - and then he installed a filter system for me. "BT plumbing (Elliot) helped us on 3 January when he sorted out a leak in the kitchen. He arrived at 9.20pm and finished by 10.45pm. Did a thorough job and made sure it would not happen again. They then (Elliot again with a second man) did a job for us on 7 February - put in a tap outside and sorted out a leak under the sink which Elliot had identified when he visited on 3 January. Neat tidy work. There was no fee for coming from West Auckland to East Auckland."

"Thanks for clear explanation of charges at first contact. Problem was attended to promptly and Francis arrived at the agreed time. The job [stopping a leaking hot water cylinder] became rather prolonged and required 2 visits to complete - good part of reason for this was difficulty of access to the cylinder valve which required lifting of stair landing. Explanation during the process was excellent and Francis returned to the job promptly after I rang to explain that initial repair was unsuccessful. Repair was completed after replacement of 2 reasonably expensive parts and then some tuning/adjustment. Became unexpectedly expensive [ although Francis waived call out fee for second visit] and though difficulty of access was major component of this, I am left a little unsure of efficiency of diagnosis"

While he was clear it was a specialist job, he did his best to repair the problem and help me configure a very tricky control panel. "First time to use BT (via Complete Detection). The technician, Ashley arrived promptly when expected, quickly assessed the location. The route of the water main was obvious, so he proceeded to hazard a guess at the most likely spot to find the leak. After only two or three prods with his acoustic equipment he announced that he was "pretty sure" the leak was "right there." I listened through the headphones myself and could easily hear the distinct "drip-drip-drip", and the probe rod emerged from the ground wet and muddy (in perfect dry weather)! Most professional, efficient and well worth it."

"The customer service side of this business is crap. Whoever works in their office needs retraining. They are not upfront about the full costs for their tradesman to come out. Without that knowledge it is difficult to make an informed choice when deciding who you want to do the job. I suspect this is how they get their business. I was not informed of the full rates for labour so got a surprise when I received the invoice. "Jordan arrived 11.20, 10 minutes early. Well dome Jordan. He promptly identified the problem â??hose rather than valveâ? and installed it within first 15 minutes. Secondly, he observed, though not reported, that after flushing, water continued dribbling from cistern to toilet so wasting water. I agreed he should investigate and replace washer if necessary. This he did promptly and within 30 minutes job was done and dusted. Again well done Jordan.

"BT Plumbing was recommended to me by a family friend who is in real estate. Bruce and Carolyn have both been fantastic to do business with. I had one job done in Aug 2013, another in Sep 2013 and a third in Dec 2013. I despair sometimes finding 'real' tradespeople and I think BT Plumbing is the real deal ....else I would not have gone back to them three times! As I am not living in Auckland if was great to be able to call / email and pay the bill online. They have been prompt, efficient and their estimates have been spot on. Carolyn has also very kindly given me a reference for an electrician recently which was another great referral. BT Plumbing is definitely my preferred plumber. Jobs were completed in Glen Eden and Glendene and were as follows: Leaking kitchen tap, Leaking shower, new stormwater pipe under house connecting to
existing storm water drainage, repair relief valve. Highly recommended by me. No cowboys in this outfit."

"Despite a delayed arrival (due to traffic), Jordan made up for it by working tirelessly for about
6-7hrs. He worked well with the thrusting co. to iron out some challenges to thrust and lay

"Excellent experience with BT Plumbing. Our gas hot water cylinder was leaking and, as it turned out, needed replacement. "I could not recommend any other plumbing provider after my experience with BT Plumbing LTD, Caroline and tradesperson Jordan.

The initial contact with Caroline was friendly, understanding and accommodating. The type of person one would want to be greeted by in such situations friendly, efficient and effective.

Additionally, the professionalism displayed by tradesperson Jordan was exemplary, being a son of a former plumber. Punctual, approachable and certainly worked with skill, obvious that he knew the trade well.

"Early morning phone call from my neighbour alerted me to water running down the drive from a mains leak.
I phoned prior to 8 o'clock the after hours operator took my details and passed them through for me.
By 0815 i received a call from the office and was given a time that the plumber would be here.
Right on time Jordan arrived and proceeded to locate and recitify the problem. He kept me informed of all developements, repaired the immediate problem and walked me through what neede to happen from there. A new mains pipe needs to be installed, he confirmed a date and time for this work and i will be more than happy to have him back for this job."

"Getting a plumber at 3pm on the 31st of December is probably not going to be easy. I called two others who advertised the whole 24/7/365 thing, but they weren't available. (Funny that.) These guys got back to me within 10 minutes, and 'Jordan' was out within an hour, done in another 45. It cost a bit extra for the emergency call-out, because of the time/date, and because I'm in Epsom and they're out west, but they were up front about that on the phone. Have waited five days before posting to ensure the work's solid: no problems since. Would absolutely use again."

"So many problems dont know where to start,
first did not turn up to my tennants then tired to tell me was not them I contacted, even though I knew it was them,
then got a ring from comapny that did their invoicing wanting to know why i have not paid, not having received the bill thats why, they had my email and physical address wrong,Once I had it emailed
I contact them immed. as the invoice did not list the work I asked to be done!!! also a call out fee of $75 for a normal business hr. call out when they only 10 minutes from the job. (They told me thats their fee and its normal) I asked to clarification of job done received it
they told me the Tap that I needed replaced did not need replacing,
so I went to house and checked sure enough the tap I had sent to house had been fitted, so they did not even know
what their plumber had done, asked for an invoice to show exactly what was done, they then placed the bill with debt collector.
i have never come across cowboys this bad,
SORRY BUT THEY WERE."

"Dean attempted to enlarge the mixer hole in plastic interior of a shower with 8-10mm drill bit. It wasn\'t drilling in, so he leaned onto the drill strongly with his weight and broke the plastic. Very unprofessional mistake, as he then used 2-3mm drill bit without problems. He then tried to blame it on the \"old\" shower to avoid responsibility. I e-mailed Bruce (the owner) and told about the damage, including a photograph, and said that I expect a remedy at their cost. I did not receive a reply.
It was agreed to halt the job due to New Year holidays, but I did not get a call in January and had to follow up twice. Large shower mixer surround was fitted at their cost to conceal the damage. Second part of the job was replacing a plumbing joint, and Dean left a tap unit rotating loosely against the pipe. I had to point it out on two occasions to get a remedy.
Final charge did not include damage remedy, but was on the expensive side in my opinion ($75 callout & $100/hour GST).
Very unpleasant experience. Will not deal with them again."

"Had a blocked wastemaster/kitchen sink and a big mess to clean up late on a Friday night. Called BT at 8:30 am Saturday morning and they were there promptly. The job went without a hitch. Dean did a thorough job of testing the sink once he'd cleared the blockage and cleaned up afterwards.

It being a weekend job there was, understandably, a more expensive call out charge but these guys were still cheaper than the competition."
