"Water Heater started a making a noise. I had absolutely no idea what to do or who to call. Figured out it was an electrician. Saw great reviews for City Electricians on here. Booked an appointment online. Spoke on the phone to Eric and Dean (having never called out an electrician before I wasn't even sure I described the problem correctly). Got a fix on Friday but noise started happening again on Sunday. Rang them on Monday. Got Richard on Monday morning who did a deep checkover and fix. Works… great - better than before. Great relaxed communication style of everyone I spoke with or who came out - I didn't feel like I didn't have a clue. Price was what I expected for 3 hours solid work and replacement parts. Will only ever use City Electricians from now on!"

"First class service & highly recommended professional. We had a non-functioning hot water tank and not only were they able to resolve the electrician fault they also discovered the tank was void of a properly connected drainage pipe, eg had the tank been emptied to replace the faulty element it would have flooded the home - so big thanks!!!"

"the power went out in the main section of the house. In my initial call, I was talked through some processes that didn't fix the issue and so they sent Karan out. He arrived very quickly and soon identified the issue. He made the issue safe and returned the next day with the parts that I needed. Karan was very professional and knowledgeable and explained what was happening, and why, through the whole process. "

"Eric from City Electricians came to the rescue on a Saturday, to fix a mistake by an air conditioning company who had installed a heat pump on the Friday. The aircon company had unplugged the power to an inaccessible high window, which was left open - with high winds and rain forecast for the weekend. As it happened, Eric noticed they had also disconnected a bathroom fan duct and left it that way. Of course the aircon company didn't work on weekends. We give Eric a 5 star rating for being… prompt, responsive, and thoroughly professional, and fixing the problem. We have called on him before and will again when needed."

"I had to get same day assistance on a Sunday afternoon when I could not turn the outdoor heater off. I called and spoke with manager Eric who was pleasant and easy to deal with. He sent the on call electrician River who did did an excellent job – efficient, competent and knowledgeable, with excellent communication skills. River fixed both the heater problem and another problem with the outside lights caused by the faulty work of another electrician. River explained everything to me in terms… which I could understand and fixed everything quickly and competently without drama or fuss. He also gave me other useful information re other electrical work that needs to be done on the house. Eric promptly followed up with more information for me regarding the other work that needs to be done (upgrade power board and related matters). Eric also communicated clearly using terms I could understand so I was left knowing what needs to be done, why it needs to be done and an estimate re the likely cost. The invoice for the work done by River on Sunday was very reasonable particularly considering it was an urgent weekend call out. I will use City Electricians Ltd (Wellington City) again without hesitation , both for the upgrade of the power board and for anything else that may need to be done in the future, and highly recommend them."

"Eric and his team have just replaced the lane and viewing area lights (35 lights in total) at the Trentham Sports Centre in Upper Hutt. As a Charitable Trust we encountered some delays in obtaining funding for this project. Eric was very understanding of the delays this resulted in but once we gave him the go ahead, he and his team got the job done very efficiently. We are very pleased with the end result and they left the Centre in a very tidy condition. "

"Our salon's main light switch melted and turned to butter.. we managed to switch the power off before it started a fire. Called city electricians and they had someone out an hour later (on a Sunday).. sorted within ten minutes of arriving. The electrician was polite, talkative and happy to answer any questions I had. Would def reccomend, reasonable pricing too especially for a Sunday afternoon!!"

"Oh my god where do I begin! I contacted city electricians today at around 6.30pm because we suffered a massive power outage (fun fact: damp hands don't mix well with power sockets) after trying to contact other electricians unsuccessfully for an hour, and Eric talked me through some steps to troubleshoot the problem. He got it fixed all with a <5 min phone call - all free of charge! Excellent service, I would definitely recommend them to anyone needing reliable help urgently. A+++++"

"City Electricians did an onsite assessment and offered a fixed price quote on replacing my mains board. The finish on the job was shoddy and the board didn't fit the frame. They insisted this is because the board was not a standard size and they hadn't priced a custom build even though they had been onsite. They came back to look at the job, and put in a wedge. The wedge was a different material and didn't fully plug the gap. The whole job look amateur without the budget price tag expected of… such a rough job. Was offered a 5% discount to cover the cost of building a cover so the gap isn't seen."

"City Electricians is a wonderful team lead by two consummate professionals Eric and Dean. We highly recomend them to any other home-owners looking for great Electricians. We completed a new build and they did the wiring of the house from start to finish. Eric was fantastic to deal with at the quoting stage of the process, making everything clear and easy to understand (and then stuck to the quote, which meant so much to us when we were working to a tight budget). He was so helpful in taking… us through all the options so that we could make the best decisions for the house. I've since worked with Dean on another quote and he is also wonderful.

When it came time to do each phase of the job the team was in and out in a couple of days! It was brilliant The real advantage with City Electricians is that they have a big team (yet still highly cost efficient) so when a job needs to be done four electricians turned up and just zoomed through each stage of the project in the blink of an eye and to the highest quality standards. We were delighted with their work. The team is a real pleasure to work with too, polite, friendly and professional. This review is reading a bit like an ad.
Here's a story.
City did a great job with rewiring the house. An… external problem existed with the powerpole - the domain of Wellington Electricity. Eric and his team visited, diagnosed the problem was with the supply to the house, booked inspectors, linesmen and ordered hardware to remedy the problem.

Wellington Electricity shouldn't have let the problem exist in the first place. City Electricians put the safety of their customers first. This attention to detail was down to the willing, thoughtfulness and professionalism that he needed to diagnose and remedy the problems. I'd hazard to guess other electricians would have identified the problem wasn't of their doing and would have walked away - but working with a business of this size - small enough to care, and big enough to have the resources give to any job, they excelled.

I've since recommended them to other domestic customers, and wish I'd written this post many months ago."

"I'm sorry to say that based on our experience, I would not recommend City Electricians. We booked them in to come and install a heated towel rail. They did not turn up. I was unable to get through to them and they did not contact us. We booked in the job a second and a third time, but exactly the same thing happened on those occasions. We have used them before and the quality of their work is good, but their customer service and organisational skills need serious improvement."

"Don\'t look anywhere else - these guys are brilliant. Trustworthy, reliable and efficient. Our entire house shorted out at 8pm at night, we rang everywhere we could at that time of night and these were the only guys who answered the phone and in hindsight I am so glad no one else answered our call! City Electricians initially helped us over the phone to see if we were able to do anything simple to resolve the issue and when we couldn\'t someone arrived within 20 minutes (as they said they… would). The electrician who helped us was fantastic and our electricity was back on within 15 minutes of their arrival. He even stayed on and helped us figure out was causing the shorting out - our back element on the stove! What more could you want Trust me, don\'t look anywhere else, ring these guys!"
