"Dreadful experience. I’ve done 5 major house renovations and dealing with Da Vinci painters was one of my worst experiences with tradesmen. Overall the paint job was good, the wallpaper hanging was substandard and their very very poor interpersonal skills overshadowed any good work they did.

You can see from the photos that the vertical pattern in the wallpaper is 13mm further away from the door frame at the top of the door compared to the bottom of the door. I've also attached a photo of a plumb line showing the doorframe is definitely plumb. When I pointed out the error, Chris first tried to blame the door frame saying it was out of plumb, then blamed my wall, then Russell insisted the job was perfect. There was a problem with an internal corner out of plumb 1.5m away, and Chris had hung the wallpaper from the wrong end of the wall.

What I found most offensive was Russell refused to even acknowledge there was a problem, insisted the job was perfect and refused to even discuss fixing it saying he didn't have time.

In the end I got another wallpaper hanger to rehang that section of the wall. A 13mm difference may not sound much but it was in a very prominent position and very easy to spot the error because it was next to the straight vertical line of the door frame. It was a simple fix that just meant rehanging the wallpaper starting from the door frame and concealing the problem on the internal corner 1.5m away where it was much less obvious.

On a $10,000 job I would have expected any decent painter to fix his own errors without blaming me."

"Da Vinci's crew did an excellent job painting the outside of my house. When they saw that my tile roof needed attention,which it did, they offered to quote for pointing restoration and painting. I had expected to have the roof done next year but the fact that the scaffolding needed for painting was suitable for the high slopes of my roof meant the roof job was a lot cheaper than it would have otherwise been.No scaffolding modification was needed.
The total repaint came in on time and budget.Da Vinci's left the site clean and tidy at the end of each day and were easy to deal with. Foreman Chris regularly visited the site so any concerns were addressed promptly.
If you want your house painted I cannot recommend Da Vinci painting strongly enough.Ian"

"Russell really talked up the experience and quality of work the business would provide. Work definitely did not live up to this. Poor attention to detail. Paint splopped on new lounge suite and back of dining room chair. Poor masking, paint left on carpet. Cutting in of feature wall dreadful. Chris the supervisor had to come in and fix this. Worked inefficiently meaning living in the house was near impossible while work was being done. Could have completed upstairs and then come downstairs.
Lack of time management meant they were rushing to get to another job with resulting substandard result in areas.
Painter made a cut in the bulkhead ceiling which has resulted in cracking which was never there prior in the 15 years I have been in the home.
Russell has told me I will need to pay to have this fixed, still do not know why the painter cut the ceiling in the first place.
Overall while personable staff, job did not live up to what I was told, lack of attention to detail and poor basic processes as above. Average job. More expensive than other painters."

It was very detailed work in places, and included fences, decks etc. The final product is excellent, and every detail has been attended to, including some details that we hadn't noticed ourselves. Along the way, Russell recommended and organised a builder to attend to building deficits/maintenance issues so the painting could be completed to the highest standard and again they were excellent. The team who painted were not only outstanding painters but also were very considerate around our house given they were with us for quite a number of weeks. "It had been over 14 years since my house had been painted, Id tried a few people Id seen advertised but they either didnt turn up or didnt contact me. Russell arrived at the agreed time and we spent some time walking around discussing options and what was needed - I never had any feeling he was rushed, his attention was 100% on me. He was able to offer a "one-stop shop" - he had a carpenter on call and was able to arrange the necessary scaffolding, so I didnt have to try and juggle multiple vendors. The scaffolding assembly was delayed by a day due to rain, but otherwise everyone turned up at the agreed times and the carpenter and painters arranged their work to align with one another. Everyone was friendly and helpful, they had a set of my keys to access my house as needed and I found everything was always left secured and tidy. The attention to detail was great, they spent some time preparing the house and you can imagine after that long between painting there was quite some fixup work to be done. Once that preparation was done, the progress with painting was speedy but the supervisor, Chris, would visit regularly and I saw evidence that hed told the team to touch areas up from the blue tape he applied, so I had confidence that the work was being fully reviewed. I had the phone contact details so could contact the team if needed and they kept me up to date too. I had some edging around window sills and this was done last, but it still had the same attention to detail, it wasnt a case of "wrap it up and move on", the work was quality throughout. Even all the rubbish and old weatherboards that had been replaced were gone the day after they finished the painting! The attention to details extended to tidying up on leaving - the house surrounds were carefully swept and surfaces wiped as needed. I am really pleased by the whole team effort and I appreciate the way they treated me and my home."

"Did an ok job but they are much more expensive than others based on excellence and not cutting corners so we were expecting a much higher standard. Disappointed customer especially based on some reviews we saw here.

Inside was left tidy but not clean. Our lawn and a garden bed were left splattered with paint and discarded rubbish such paint sticks, screwed up masking tape & bottle tops.

Lacked attention to detail and our project took twice as long as quoted.

Beware of poor communication."

"Russell was recommended by a friend and after using him and his team I would recommend DaVincis also. At the start of this year, the exterior joinery needed to be sanded back and repainted, along with my front door and steps. The team Russell put on the job were prompt, professional and treated my home respectfully. "They were contracted by Landmark Homes Counties( company building two houses for us).

The painting is of very poor quality in workmanship and no remedial work has been undertaken even though we have asked several times.

Russell needs to monitor his workers much more closely and stand by his word that he only does high standard work. He has let himself down badly with these two houses and I certainly wouldn't recommend him."

"Da Vincis Painting Ltd have just completed our very high foyer entrance way also the balustrade, ceilings, door surrounds and 30 doors (removing all hardware & reinstalling it)
The old wallpaper was removed & the surface made ready for a paint finish, this required scaffolding. The finish is of an extremely high standard and the team were polite and professional.

"Our home had 22 doors that needed a few repairs and repainting, in searching for a company to do this Da Vincis painting was not only competitive on price but they were the only company who offered a complete Job. They offered to take the doors away for painting, remove all the hardware, label each door and refit doors and handles when the doors where painted. This saved us a lot of time and effort. The painting was high quality and the service was excellent. I noticed the care they took in removing the doors from the property. (not banging into the walls on exit). "We just had a full exterior paint done by Felix, Darren and Russell following extensive other work on our house. They were by far the most professional and detailed tradesmen we have had working at our house. Russell gave an accurate estimation on the job and made sure it stayed on budget, his presence on site was extremely important to us - visiting on almost a daily basis to ensure things were going as planned. His attention to detail and instructions to the guys was very clear. He personally painted our roof, which had some very difficult sections at 45 degrees. Darren and Felix were always cheerful and made great friends with our son - even dropping off a couple of presents for him. They always used dropsheets (even to protect our bushes) and left the site in a tidy state every night. We would have no hesitation in using them again, or recommending them to others."
