"Since contacting Dave Brown Electrical I have had nothing but unbelievable service and support. For a job another electrical company could not perform (or give any options), these guys went out of their way to find a way to perform the main job I required. I had basically given up on being able to achieve the job and returned the lights I had following the previous electricians confirmation they could not install with a certificate. Dave Brown came up with a way to achieve this, with certification, and for this I am extremely grateful and these guys ARE my electrifcians from this point forward. Cannot recommend them high enough. "Dave who is the owner of the business was really good at coming to the house and talking through what needed to be done. Nick who is the electrician who did the job was very good. "We are exceptionally pleased that we chose Dave Brown Electrical to rewire our old house.

We knew rewiring our old home was going to be a big job so we wanted to get a few quotes. We had four companies in to have a look at the existing wiring, including one that wanted to know who they were up against prior to coming in for a quote. For the most part, the other electricians spent very little time looking into the job that needed to be done; one company simply went around the house, counting the outlets, switches and lights in the house. Other than Dave, only one of the electricians ever got back to us with a quote (this is not an exaggeration).

Unlike the most of the other electricians, when Dave arrive he was meticulous and thorough. He literally spent hours in the house and took copious amounts of notes. He spent a great deal of time opening up all of the outlets, checking the existing wiring, checking the attic, garage and outside of the house; explaining virtually everything as he went along. He described how he would upgrade our wiring, the breaker panel and even went above and beyond by explaining that they would also need to remove the old asbestos paneling that holds our current breaker panel. He also explained that our current lighting in the bathroom was non-compliant and would need to be replaced. The day before the job, Dave came in to go over his detailed notes with us so that we were still in agreement with everything that needed to be done.

During the job, his team was just as meticulous and thorough. Towards the end of the five day job, they had asked us to come in so that they could explain all of the actions they had taken. They showed us the four different types of non-compliant wiring they had to remove (some literally shedding insulation when they shook the wires). They explained which switches that were replaced, how the bathroom extractor fan was completed as well as how 90% of old wiring that was pulled out.

All-in-all we were completely satisfied with the work they had done, and would have no hesitation in giving Dave and his team our recommendation for anyone looking for a master electrician."

"On Jan 18th, Wellington Electricity cut our line for four hours for replacement of the pole on the street and advised to be home to access our board to turn the power back on. What they did not tell us was that they might not turn it back on (esp if the house and wiring were older). They flagged our older house (and 2 neighbours). At the LAST minute, before a storm hit Wellington, Dave Brown sent Liam, who not only fixed everything, but was extremely helpful explaining the situation and working with WE to get our power restored before the storm! He also helped our neighbours. We greatly appreciate the quick response, Liam's knowledge and skills, and extraordinary professionalism."

"The work was to upgrade our 1970's Mains board to the current standard (wiring, removing ceramic fuses, asbestos backing board etc).
Quotes were sought from multiple companies, and the team from Dave Brown Electrical were engaged to undertake the work.
Their quote price was very sharp, and the service experienced at the from end through the consultation and quoting phases from Dave was excellent.
On the agreed scheduled day, Liam (& Ratu the apprentice) turned up to exactly the minute agreed.
The work was undertaken to replace all of the necessary items to the current compliance standard of today.
It was a pleasure to watch Liam undertake the actions of the job and take the time to explain things to Ratu about how, why, what etc. The type of information and on-the-job training that is just invaluable to those starting out in their chosen career.
The job was finished and Liam & Ratu cleaned the site down removing all of their wiring offcuts, screws, insul tape etc.

I am currently planning further electrical projects at home, and Dave Brown Electrical will be at the top of my list to contact and discuss my requirements with.

"This is a well considered 100% rating. My partner and I had Dave's guys around to do a multitude of small and medium-sized jobs on 2 July. (I'm sorry I don't remember their names but they were great.) "My home is a work in progress and I required a sparky asap.. as my kitchen was been installed the over Easter .. no sparky was able to do the wiring before Easter but was given Dave Brown Electrical Services phone number by a family friend who has used Dave for years and so I rang Dave and he was there with another electrician to do the prewiring on the Thursday and returned on the Tuesday to complete the job after the builder completed the kitchen that long weekend...I have had Dave and his boys back to do more work and they have completed the work quickly and to a very high standared and the priceing was very good""

"We completed a rebuild and Dave Brown Electrical was contracted for all electrical work. We had problems with the designer/prime contractor but Dave went in, saw a problem, communicated with us and completed that section of the job. "Dave Brown Electrical Services ltd was the third electrical company that we used to find the fault with our kitchen power points constantly tripping the circuit breaker. The other two companies charged us for just resetting the circuit breaker. But Dave Brown Electrical Services Ltd not only did they just reset the circuit breaker, but investigated the problem.
Dave highly recommended seperating the existing power point circuit in the kitchen and the laundry. Afew days later Dave Brown Electrical Services Ltd came back and seperated the existing wiring in the kitchen and the laundry for the power points.
Now we can use all of the appliances and don't have to worry about tripping the circuit breaker.
We would gladily recommend Dave Brown Electrical Services to our friends and neighbours. For the main reason that his company was very prompt and thorough and actually listened to our concerns, instead of taking the easy way out with regards to the wiring in the kitchen"

"Dave and his team are great! He is easy to deal with and quick to respond to urgent problems. I had problems with a prowler hanging around flats I own and he was round there within and hour of me phoning him and added more security lights and moved the ones I had higher up so they couldnt be interfered with. "It comes as a complete surprise to me to see the negative feedback placed for Dave Brown.
We have recently completed a make over in our salon which has included alot of creative thinking on all of the tradespeoples behalf with the biggest challenge being for Dave himself.
Due to the project manager being ignorant and misinforming Dave of the correct requirements we came in to discover the confusion.
We described to Dave what it was really supposed to be and he knew exactly what we were after and how to do it.
Not only was he easy to work with in such abnormal circumstances he worked in his own time unpaid to get the job done on time with the amount he quoted even though it was a much bigger job than was incorrectly described to him, of which he could easily have said "this is a different job therefore it is a different price" but he didnt.
This was the first time we worked with Dave and he is now our on call electrician and someone we highly recommend."

"Out of all the Electricians listed in my area just my luck ( or maybe my bad judgment...) that i choose the only one with a negative rating. Firstly Dave Brown charged me almost $1000 more then I was later quoted by another Electrician. The Electricians that actually worked for Dave Brown seemed to me to be competent and honest workers. But the problem was that Dave Brown himself made a mistake that if completed would have made the work illegal. The Electricians used their initiative to find a solution, however this still did not solve the problem and additional work had to be done to put it right. The next problem was that Dave Brown tried to charge me for this work, which I of course refused to do. And after 6 months of threats of Dept collection and excuses about his own workmanship. Dave Brown took me to the small claims tribunal. In which he told lies and contradicted his own workers opinions and made a right goon of himself, the referee DID NOT rule in his favor. After the hearing Dave Brown threatened me. Be very careful of this tradesperson, get a quote or better still find another Electrician. There are plenty of good ones out there. Not only is this Man not trustworthy he is a real pain to deal with. Would anyone really want this person working on their property?"

"Fourtunatly this tradesperson did some o.k work, unfortunatly for him he took on some other work in which he wasnt qualified for, neither did he tell me about his lack of exprience in this area, nor did he resolve on the on going problems I still have to date, I think a measure of a good trades person is someone that is up front, honest and realible, Mr Brown has failed to reslove any of these issues, he has failed in his obligations under the fair trading act, fit for the purpose, What i have ,certinally isnt fit for the purpose!, nor is he intested in trying to keep a customer happy, needless to say I wont be recommending Mr Brown! I have also loged a complaint to the Electrical Workers Licensing Group"
