100%"Our family are so happy we came across First Rate Mortgages. I knew we were in great hands after my initial call to enquire about their services. I laid out our situation (which was complex!) to Lorraine, as I had done with several other brokers. What impressed me was that Lorraine emailed back later that day with a near-perfect recall and summary of all we had discussed, which meant...she was listening! Our house purchase was being conducted during a particularly busy time. At least 3 mortgage… brokers still haven't got back to me and we've been in our new house nearly a month so it's a little late now! First one was getting a home loan approved through a non bank lender, as we had some issues with the credit history and no other main banks and other brokers weren't able to help us out. When everyone has turned around us, Raymond was there for us and he made it happen. We had a tight deadline on getting finance for our dream home, and the banks process was very slow. First Rate Mortgages Limited was born in Auckland as a result of the New Zealand Banks changing from a branch structure with Bank Managers who you would have a personal relationship with and they had the discretion to approve your home loans, to a structure where the Branches were focused on "sales" with lending decisions made by back office faceless entities.
This business model was not suited to everyone and the Mortgage Broking business has developed, as more and more people want an ongoing relationship with a financial adviser, who manages their finances and deals with the lenders on their behalf. We also understand that it is not always good times with finances plus the rules keep changing so we are experts with Non Bank solutions to help you if you hit a financial speed bump.

In February 2015 we moved to Offices in Orewa Central and are helping with many new inquiries from Albany through to Whangarei and Kaitaia.
