"Steve helped us out with three half finished diy Reno’s at our house.

TLDR: Steve & the guys did really thorough and high quality work. Steve helped us work out what we wanted done, and then continued to be thorough with communications throughout the project. Even when I got busy with work and missed a few calls, Steve was great at keeping us posted. Photos were taken before plastering.

1. We had two wardrobes side by side for adjacent rooms and had opened them up to make one big wardrobe for our bedroom. After I’d started pulling it apart I realised there was framing build into the floor and walls in ways I couldn’t do without damaging more than I meant to. After discussing some options we decided to remove the wardrobe to make space and Steve removed everything leaving it tidy and clear.

2. I’d pulled off a door and frame of a laundry nook to make space, but the walls behind were very messy and needed recovering, and roof tiles didn’t match so looked ugly & untidy. Steve helped us figure out how to fix this (with a brace on the roof to separate spot where ceiling tiles met). This whole section had lots of little finicky bits that needed tidying up, and required someone who would take the time to make final product look clean & planned. Steve (and the guys) did a great job.

3. We had a concrete step on the way out of the house that was very uneven, coming apart, and we’d tried to fill with the wrong materials. He was able to take apart our work, grind down the step, and install a flush step ontop that lined up with the floor. Very happy with this.

"Last year we employed FHB to replace rotten weatherboards discovered while our house was being painted. Steve and his team did an excellent job and completed it in just 2 days. We were so impressed with their professionalism that we employed them again this year to remedy not consented alterations in order to achieve council compliance. "I hired Steve and the Full House crew to take on a number of small-ish maintenance requests (replacing baseboards, building a new gate, installing some flashing over a bay window) that ended up requiring more work than initially anticipated. I also changed my reqs once or twice through the process.

"We became aware during 2023 that our house needed remedial work on the exterior, and we contacted Steve Dang of Full House Builders through the No Cowboys website. We chose Steve because of the excellent reviews on the website. We were not disappointed. He contacted us immediately and over the next few months he worked on a remedial plan for our house - a complex exercise because of the design features of the house and the impact of its exposed site. Despite being very busy, Steve did a large amount of work in developing and assessing options, discussing with specialist tradies, doing costings etc, i.e.the development of a comprehensive remedial plan. His communication with us was excellent throughout, he was always available for discussion by phone, email or in person. He gave us frequent progress reports throughout and clear explanations and understandings of the various matters he was working on and discussing with his specialist tradie contacts. His approach was always thoughtful, professional and helpful.
For various reasons we have decided not to proceed with implementation of the plan at this time but should we decide to do so, we know that the hard and comprehensive planning work has been done to a high standard and we would have no hesitation in commissioning Steve to carry out the work. We have full confidence in him.
In addition to the planning work he did for us, his builders - Ivan and Connor - did an important smaller fix-it task for us and it was done very professionally. Both were extremely pleasant to have working in the house.

"Steve was very prompt with his site visit and subsequent quote. The job involved replacing a barge board on our 2 storey house on our sloping driveway. On taking the barge board off Steve realised ther was further damage underneath from the water which had travelled down our weatherboards. Fortunately for us Steve was onto it. He took the time to get me up onto the scaffolding so I could see the damage and help choose the appropiate action to repair or replace the weatherboards. The job was much bigger than originally thought and would take longer than originally planned but Steve and his team made it work by working into the night to get the job completed as soon as was practical. We really appreciate the long hours they put in. Steve's communication throughout was clear, concise and friendly. The quality of work completed was a very high standard which is crucial when working on houses. He also arranged the painters as needed. The painter's work was also a very high standard. "Steve and his team completed a complicated repair and repaint project on an old two-story villa in Wellington. There was a lot of rot in the weatherboards and around the windows and Steve and his team made an excellent job on the work. I was out of Wellington at the time, but Steve managed the project very effectively and kept me well informed of all work and the issues that arose (which were a few considering the age and neglect of the house). "Steve and his crew have done a number of jobs for us over the last 12 years, including a bathroom renovation and repairs to get a house ready for sale. Steve stands out from other tradies we have used. His communication is exceptional. "Steve and his team have recently been completing renovation works to two flats within my multi-unit residential investment property, and it should be noted that this property has a substantial walk on access with no possibility of driving onto the site. Therefore, simply getting building materials onto the site is challenging in itself. All three builders that are the Fullhouse Builders team have at all times conducted themselves in a manner that has been very friendly and respectful not only to myself who has engaged their services, but also to the various tenants occupying other flats within the property they have worked on. Steve and the team have taken great care to tidy up after themselves at the end of each days work, and have been careful not to leave tools, building materials and rubbish in anyone's way during the course of their work.
The Fullhouse Builders team have previously completed a full interior refurbishment of one of the flats within this property for me, including some interior wall reconfiguration, demolition of a chimney, installing insulation, re-lining, re-building a bathroom and installation of a new kitchen, and re-hanging the front door entry. This work was completed to a very high standard of workmanship, and on time within the very short window of time that was available. All of the sub-trades as recommended by Steve were also very efficient and provided a good standard of workmanship.
The latest project has involved removal of multiple old exterior window and door joinery items, installation of new replacement joinery, replacement exterior cladding and interior lining work, plus structural strengthening of a large cantilevered bay window at second floor level. Steve has provided clear communication as to the timing and cost involved with completing the project, both leading up to commencement and also during the course of the work being undertaken. He has also been careful to outline alternative options available where multiple courses of action have been possible. Some aspects of the building work have proven technically challenging and Steve has had no hesitation in consulting with myself and my architect to mutually determine the most appropriate course for approaching the work to achieve the best possible outcome.
Steve and the Fullhouse Builders team have always "gone the extra mile" with any work they have completed for me, and I have no hesitation in highly recommending their building services to anyone."

"We’ve had Steve and his crew for several repair jobs to complete. Steve had a good team of Subbies working with him as well. The first lot was bathroom renovation. The second lot was replacing the weatherboard, rebuilding the old porch, recladding and replacing the missing soffit board that another cowboy builder did. Nothing was too much trouble. The quality of Steve's workmanship is exceptional, the site was left clean and tidy, and communications were excellent. we wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to others."
