"Hamish from Hi-Spec plumbing installed an insinkerator for us. He was friendly, professional and informative. He arrived on time, tidied-up after the installation. No job is too big or too small. I have since used Hi-Spec Plumbing again. They were able to come the same day which was amazing as I needed to connect my washing machine to the laundry tub taps. Again amazing service. "I called on Hi Spec during the Christmas holiday period. Brendon was their in call plumber. He contacted me to discuss the job and we scheduled the following morning to do the work. Brendon arrived on time and came up with an excellent solution to the problem. The work was done to a very high standard and quickly. Brendon also ensured the site was left clean and tidy afterwards. Overall i was very impressed with the quality of work and the workmanship. Pricing was also very reasonable. I definitely recommend Hi Spec plumbing."

"I highly recommend Hi-Spec Plumbing and Gas. My kitchen fawcet was dripping constantly. I phoned Hamish - who had responded brilliantly to a plumbing emergency on Waitangi Day 2018. He was just as helpful this time, sending Brendon, who removed the 40-year-old fawcet to reveal it was disinintegrating. No problem - Brendon bought the perfect replacement fawcet, as well as three replacement outside taps, and fitted them all perfectly and efficiently. I am delighted with the quality of the fittings, Hamish’s good communication and timeliness, Brendon’s plumbing and purchasing skills, as well as his courtesy and tidiness. The job was reasonably priced and my Watercare bill has already gone down because my taps are no longer leaking."

"Harry was great to work with; turned up bang on time (was actually outside the house early); was very polite and clear in terms of what work he was undertaking and offered an additional option of another piece of work that he could do at the same time as fixing the initial issue, which I really valued.

"Hamish picked up my call on a Sunday afternoon. Confirmed I’d put things right enough that we didn’t need a weekend call out. Showed up first thing Monday to scope, and an hour later Harry was onsite to get started. All this during level 3 lockdown, with the appropriate PPE. Great guys, friendly and happy with the work. "Amazing service. Rang Hamish around 9.30am saying our hot water cylinder pilot light had gone out and we had no hot water. Doug arrived 30 minutes later and recommended installation of a new system. I had to rush off to hospital with my son, so I just left him to it. All was fixed when I got back several hours later. Good value for money too. Definitely recommend."

"Hamish has done a few small jobs for us but this was by far the biggest including the plumbing work for a bathroom renovation and installing a new hotter cylinder. Once again Hamish and the boys did a great job. Worked in with the builder to ensure everything was done on time and again, the workmanship was great. Quality job on time and cleaned up afterwards! "I called out Hi-Spec plumbing and when they arrived I explained the problem. They said the problem was due to "dirty gas" they cleaned out the system and left saying if you continue to have problems give us a call. They were there for about 20mins and charged $250!!
I called back and told them the problem was still happening. I asked if I would have to pay for the "travel costs again" and they said "yes we don't work for free" he also stated that he would send me a breakdown of his charges and "If I didn't like that I could get another plumber" after two reminders I never did receive a breakdown of charges and I have happily moved onto another plumber.
I didn't expect them to work for free, but I did think that since the problem wasn't solved they would return (minus travel costs) to fix the problem they were originally called out for."

"We have done an extensive refit of the plumbing in our existing house as well as an addition, and used Hi Spec for all our plumbing needs. Hamish and his team have exceeded our expectations with timeliness, standard of finish, and attitude.

Quotes for the job were timely and accurate.

Other trades, including our builder have been extremely impressed and commented on the entire team's work ethic and ability to solve any plumbing issues promptly and efficiently.

Every member of Hamish's team goes the extra mile while on site, working efficiently and happily, timing their work around other trades where necessary.

After our work was completed we experienced a drain issue (unrelated to the area of the house Hi Spec had worked on), Hamish turned up in the dark and sorted the issue out for us promptly with his usual cheerful manner, even though it was 8pm.

Hamish and his Hi Spec team have been our most reliable trade by far, they turn up on time, when they say they will, and go the extra mile to meet the customers expectations.

I have recommended Hi Spec to both family and friends since we have used them and all report great experiences."

"I called Hamish in to fix a problem with a toilet cistern, which turned out to be more serious and complicated than I first thought. It involved replacing several parts and pulling the toilet out from the wall. Hamish responded immediately to my call, came round that afternoon and got the diagnosis and repair process under way. I won't go into the details, but it turned out that the toilet's installation (by another plumber) had been poorly done. Hamish was thoroughly competent, civilised and reassuring throughout the process of remedying this. He went and got the extra parts needed promptly and did a first-rate job, ensuring that I was inconvenienced (no pun intended) for as short a period as possible. I wanted a plumber with good reviews based somewhere near my Glendowie home. It wasn't easy to find Hi-Spec Plumbing on the NoCowboys website -- plumbers from the North Shore and other far-flung suburbs popped up as servicing Glendowie-St Heliers -- I hate to think of the travel time involved. I was pleased to find Hi-Spec Plumbing is Glendowie based and offers a 10% discount to "locals". Highly recommended. Jan"

"We had Outstanding service from Hamish and his team in converting our 2 bathrooms hot water from electricity to LPG . Hamish communicated proactively through out the project. He text to confirm when he would be here, and was very professional. He answered all our questions, and had good knowledge of the issues for the job. We appreciated his sensible recommendations, unlike the odd and expensive recommendations we had received from other companies. The quote was market rates for the job. Because of Hamish professional prompt service and pleasant manner we choose his company for the job, and had confidence it would be done well. Martin and Chris were on site for 1 1/2 days - both were really professional and did a great job and great clean up.
We recommend Hi Spec without hesitation. We found them on NoCowboys, and can confirm all other recommendations. We will definitely use them again, to get prompt professional well priced service ."
