"The electrician was good and I supplied the bulbs and he was here for 20 minutes and I ended up getting a bill for $188.60 which is a rip-off. The dodgy company put on extra charges like "electrical certification" when there was no certification required or give, Then they slam dunked a $45 "vehicle rate" but never disclosed this in advance. Then the $89 for the 20 minutes labour charge. I wouldn't use them again because of their undercover charges they never explained."

"We engaged James Smith Electrical to replace 2 cables for a wastewater pump. We'd been dealing with the company that installed & serviced the pump, but their quote for the cable repair seemed quite high and they wouldn't provide a detailed breakdown. James Smith provided a full breakdown of costs and even after we added 2 smaller jobs into the mix, the price was still significantly lower than the first quote.

James and Tarquin (who did the work for us) were great to deal with and the new cabling is installed neatly to blend in with the existing structure. We'll be using them again and highly recommend them!"

"I just had these guys do a bunch of work around my property (adding new electrical points, network-enabled controls, switches, interior and exterior lighting, installing wall-mounted heaters etc). This is a really professional outfit, great communication on all aspects of the job and super-tidy work!

What I particularly liked was the close-attention-to-detail and the finishing touches that they made to ensure that everything looked and worked as well as it possibly could and the tour I was given at the end of the job to show me how everything worked and all the features :-)

In all, three people worked on the job over two days and you honestly couldn't hope for a more friendly, clean-cut, and respectful bunch of guys to show up for a job. I was really happy with all the work, they went to great effort to minimise the impact on our household and then they cleaned up after themselves!

I would very highly recommend these guys and I will 100% have them back for any future work."

Their communication was excellent and dates and times were confirmed by email.I needed a stove to be disconnected and moved to another room while new flooring was laid. Jared went to some effort to shift the stove to where I wanted it and wiped the walls where the stove had been. Two days later Tyler arrived as arranged to reinstall the stove and before moving it into position he wiped the sides and back of the stove down. He attached a safety chain to the stove, answered all my questions and worked efficiently. Both of these workers impressed me with their attitude to electrical safety."

I needed repair work to fix UV damage in the meter board. Then, in the same month, an electrician was needed to sign off the new hot water cylinder. So, there was quite a lot of work completed. All tradesmen, including Forrest Hill Plumbing, were on time, efficient, tidy and communicated well. On completion, photos and paperwork were emailled.

"Our mains supply connection to the house blew up. Vector came and disconnected the fuse on the pole and gave us a list of recommended electrical contractors to call. We left a message with two - they still haven't called back.

We found James on NoCowboys and called him. James was very helpful in communication, came round very promptly, installed a new connection box and completed the rewiring to our total satisfaction. He's also a very community minded man which is great."

A wire came loose in the switch board during the work which meant my hot water cylinder stopped working. With a quick text the James he was there in 30 minutes and resolved it in about 2. Excellent service would definately reccomend!"

"Quick summary: Great work. Totally honest and reliable. Friendly, a really lovely guy, awesome work ethics.

The full story: James has been really through with providing me various options and sources samples so I could choose the best look for our landscaping. He took the time to understand what I was looking for and why, even for the smaller projects I had, and he made several suggestions to save time, money and in the end to provide a better result. He has made himself available to work around my hours and has consistently been extremely pleasant to work with as well as totally reliable and excellent at communicating with me. I have now had James back three times to do more work as he makes my projects seem simple and hassle free.

The biggest compliment I can say about James is that I pay him immediately his invoice comes in as it's one way I can show him how much I appreciate him doing such a good job.

"James was our electrician on a major renovation. Over several months he came and went from our job, as needed, and on each visit I observed him working really hard (and I had to encourage him to take a break!) and quickly. He went out of his way to fit in odds and ends for our job so as to help me, and other tradespeople. The invoices were always very reasonable too, which certainly helps, and perhaps this is because he just gets so much done in such a quick time.
On top of it all he is simply a really nice bloke. One of the genuinely nice people out there.
I have recommended him to anyone that has asked for a sparky and have heard so many positive things about him. He's a bit of a legend in our neighborhood."

"James carried out a range of electrical work for us from May 2013 through to January 2015 in conjunction with the renovations of our property. This included the complex complete re-wiring of our mid-century house, replacement of fusebox, replacement of exterior security lighting and interior light fittings, light switches and powerpoint's. James also completed the electrical works to our new kitchen including commissioning the new appliances and installation of LED down lights.
