"This is the second exterior painting job we've used Kurt for, after he painted the full exterior of our large two storey house about five years ago.
We asked Kurt to come back to complete more exterior painting after renovations as we know his attention to detail is outstanding. He's been great at communicating with us about when he will be on site. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend Kurt."

"Kurt has done various paint jobs (stripping varnished surfaces, interior and exterior staining and painting) for us over many years, and we have always been very pleased with the quality of his work. He has a good eye for detail and will point out surface defects etc that need to be repaired before he will start the painting to ensure a high-quality final product. Kurt keeps a tidy worksite, with no paint splatter on surrounding surfaces. He’s happy to share his opinion on colour if we need… help, and more than once has saved us from some bad colour choices! Most recently we needed his help to do some work urgently. He fitted our work in amongst his existing workload, was patient when we realised we had chosen the wrong tint and completed the work to a high standard days ahead of expectation. Kurt has a cheerful, relaxed demeanour and is a pleasure to work with."

"Kurt did a very careful and thorough job painting my front door, which is very exposed to the sun as well as bad weather. This was the opposite to the previous painter who did very poor job on the door and so subsequently the paint on the door deteriorated very quickly."

"I would describe Kurt as a craftsperson rather than just a painter. The care and pride he took in his work is extraordinary. Kurt went above and beyond time and time again during his time at our home. He treated our home as if he was working on his own home. He did the job right so that we have complete confidence that it is going to last for years and years. His commitment to doing a quality job saw him spending days and days sanding the weatherboards back to bare timber before applying a… primer, an undercoat, and two top coats. Others in the trade may have taken short cuts or done less prep work, but not Kurt. For example, areas of the house that will never be seen from the street were done right. When he spotted rust on some of the guttering brackets, or roofing nails he took the time to grind off the rust and apply a rust inhibitor. He helped me stain the decks and fences so that the rest of our property now looks perfect.

If you are fortunate enough to have Kurt look after your home, you will not be disappointed. A 10 out of 10 rating from me."

"my house had only bits of it repainted in 30 yrs. Flaky lead paint weatherboards (some rotten) and asbestoes in the soffits had always put me off opening a can of worms.i contacted Kurt and with help of his builder we make a plan.Kurt was extremely hard working, Explaining each step of stripping paint and painting .Very patient with my indecisive colour choice.he gave me good advice. I now enjoy looking at my house instead of seeing all the things wrong with it.

"Kurt repainted my whole house and did so to an exceptional standard. He stripped back the previous paint to bare timber and re-primed, undercoated and then applied two top coats. He kept the place clean and tidy throughout, made sure all the little maintenance jobs like tightening the screws in the flashings were attended to, and went the extra mile to leave the place looking better than brand new. "Kurt recently painted the interior of our 4 bedroom home and we were very happy with the professionalism he showed. Kurt is very meticulous in the preparation and this ensures a very high standard of finish. He arranged a Colour Consultant to visit our home at no cost and this was invaluable in choosing the right colours. He always communicated with us throughout the process and was very considerate in making sure that he completed the important areas around the house on time, so that any… disruption was kept to a minimum. "Kurt is honest, hardworking and professional. My exterior paint was in very bad condition and Kurt bought the skills, experience and safety equipment (removal of lead paint) to get the preparation and painting done right the first time. "As agreed, Kurt provided labour only to redecorate new walls and ceilings in the lounge and dining areas. Also repainted the windows and an old sliding door. Kurt spent a bit more time on a couple of areas where we needed a better finish (sliding door). At times Kurt's work was a little patchy but he was happy to redo some parts when I pointed out what I saw. Kurt communicated well and was pleasant to deal with"

"Kurt painted inside our house after renovations were done and also the whole of the outside of the house. His preparation, workmanship and timeliness can't be faulted. Kurt even arranged for a (free) colour consultant from the paint supplier to visit to give colour scheme advice! The results are amazing. "I cannot say enough about This company, we needed to completely redecorate and renovate our home inside and out. Kurt came out and took the time to look properly at what was required, he them supplied us with several options as to how to complete the work without major disruption to our family.
The work was carried out timely and with great care to detail, his product knowledge and professional approach to everything left us at ease and completely confident we had chosen the right trades… person.

"If you want a perfect paint job, Kurt is the one for you. He has just finished painting my place, including the roof, and I can thoroughly recommend him. He works with a builder who does any necessary repairs/maintenance. They are excellent tradesmen and it shows in the end result."

"This is the second time I have had Kurt work on my place (not because work needed redoing, more me staging the work) and he was my first choice.
Kurt is a perfectionist. He sees blemishes I didn't (until being pointed out) and always wants a perfect result.
he is also generous with "extras", eg when he washed the house down he also waterblasted the path and deck, unasked. He also did extra painting where he saw a need, no extra cost, even though my bay window needed a lot more… hours than he expected.

Kurt might not be the cheapest quote you get but you will get much better value for money and a great paint job."

"Kurt was generally good at his work but poor on admin. He also adds 'hidden' costs such as cleaning his brushes when he gets home and shaking his sheet out and folding it! He also charges a lot for travel ($50 for a 28km)
Best get a clear picture of what Kurt intends to charge you for before he starts."

"In a perfect world there would be lots of people like Kurt to help us maintain our houses for the long-term as well as keep/make them look really great - but in reality those people are quite rare. The most recent work that Kurt did for us was (as usual) a really good experience. He's helped us transform our master bedroom from a shabby neglected space into an elegant space (the oiled large original window is the star), as well as carefully tidying up the outside of our 60 year old house."

"I have a 1905 Villa in Wellington. This is the second time I have had it painted by K R Jurgens (the last time 12 years ago).
Kurt is the only painter I would use. He is an expert on older homes, one of the last master craftsman. Kurt provided a detailed quote for our project and consulted with us at every stage. He kept us informed throughout the project and loving restored our Villa back to its former glory (just as he did 12 years ago).
Kurt\'s emphasis/focus on preparation is… uncompromising and this ensures a first class finish of premium quality. His choice to use Resene Paints for our Villa, allowed a wider selection of colour choices than some other brands I was considering at the time.

I highly recommend Kurt Jurgens as a specialist painting contractor. (He s now working on another urgent project for me after Christmas)."
