"I wholeheartedly recommend Kirsten as a landscape designer. She is professional, clear, detailed and spends time making herself fully aware of the clients' needs. We first approached Kirsten having just bought one hectare of land in semi rural Auckland. From day one she has made site visits, and given invaluable advice at all stages, beyond her remit on some occasions. She constantly checked back to see our response to each stage of the design. Her communication is to a very high standard, she is always quick to respond to any queries, even well after the plan was completed. Her final design was truly excellent, creative and full of the practicalities and different mood spaces we had asked for. She recommended plants and ideas I never would have thought of and included some of the plants i had brought with me that fitted the style. For the final scheme, we received a full large scale colour plan, a detailed planting plan, pictures and detailed instructions to accompany each phase, plus extra copies of each. Finally, what I as a client really appreciated was that Kirsten was trustworthy, honest and supportive when discussing (some maybe unrealistic) ideas the client might have (as I did). She has a keel sense of humour which helps.

"We renovated the front of our bungalow in Grey Lynn and commissioned Kirsten to design the small pocket handkerchief size front garden (approx 3x3m). This is overlooked from the bi-fold windows of the lounge and so is important as an extension of this space. She listened carefully to our brief and challenged this where we were unrealistic (there is no such thing as a no-maintenance garden apparently!).

Kirsten responded with a concept design that looked fantastic, with layers of texture and colour. She sourced our plants, including the all-important feature Nikau palm with trunk. She also worked closely with her recommended team from Urbis to implement the planting plan.

Fast forward 18 months and now the plants are established, the garden looks exactly as per the original concept drawing and exceeds expectations.

Thanks to Kirsten and Adam from Urbis we look out every day on a garden that feels like a work of art."

"After decades of neglect while the property was tenanted followed by a major renovation project, our small city back garden was until recently a weed covered, muddy mess. We had lots of ideas about what we wanted to achieve with the space - a varied and interesting garden, paths, a big vegetable bed , espaliered citrus trees, retain the one substantial tree and the existing ferns, nothing too costly... but little idea how to achieve this.
