"Painters Inc. were a pleasure to work with. They arrived when they said they would to talk to us about our older 3-storey cedar house and what we wanted. Damian did a thorough assessment and gave us sound advice on what treatment we should have and repairs that were needed. The house was previously stained, but we opted to have it painted this time. We got an on-the-spot ballpark quote which we found helpful in guiding our decision-making. The company found good solutions for various issues which were discussed with us, they gave technical advice on paint colour choices, and they arranged a builder for the repairs. They organised the scaffolding which arrived on time and was taken down the day after completion. Communication was excellent throughout the project which was finished in a timely manner.
Damian, Sam and the boys were hard-working, and very respectful of us and our property. There was no loud music or swearing! We were even given baked goodies, what a delightful surprise.
We were so pleased with the results and our colour choices that we got them to come back and paint a pergola and our garage. We absolutely love it and couldn’t be happier."

"We are extremely pleased with the work carried out by Painters Inc. They painted the exterior of our two level barn and our house, including walls, roof and joinery. They carried out a thorough inspection before providing a price and we had good discussions on paint systems over the next few weeks. The communications were timely and very clear. "Everything was very professional, from the initial visit to the finish of the job. We have a house which is three storeys at the front, and it was some time since it was last painted. The attention to detail on the preparation was was excellent, and the painting also. Painters Inc included the scaffolding in their fixed-price quote, and took care of all those arrangements. They started the job on the date they had indicated some time previously, and the friendly hard-working team were here on time every day, so the job was completed in the time-frame we were told.
We are so impressed we have contracted them for some internal work during the coming winter."

"We're absolutely delighted with the exterior paint job carried out by Painters Inc. This was a totally stress free and painless project.

Everything was professionally managed right from the start.

Damian and Fiona both came out to assess the work and prepare a quote, and it was obvious straight away that they had the knowledge, skills and experience which gave us the confidence that this would be a job well done.

Communication was excellent throughout and everything happened on the dates they said it would, from the scaffolding going up to the team arriving on site.

The onsite team were professional, considerate and respectful and they did a first-class job. It was certainly the most efficiently conducted painting project we've ever had done.

The overall quality of the work is excellent and the house looks great.
Nothing was too much trouble, even to the extent of doing some extra repair work that could have been deemed as outside the scope of the original quote.

"These guys did a fantastic job painting our cedar clad home in the windy Western Hills of Lower Hutt. We got quotes from three different painting companies, all well reviewed and whom we thought would do a good job. However we ended up choosing Painters Inc because they specialise in applying paint systems to cedar (a cheaper long-term solution than regular staining due to the extensive scaffolding required to paint our home), their quote was competitive/on par with the others, and they said they could finish it in a week! This was the quickest completion time we were quoted for. We are new home owners and had a million and a half questions as this is all new to us, and the other thing about Painters Inc is how knowledgable and experienced they are - this gave us peace of mind.

Painters Inc organised scaffolding for us, and also helped us choose colours by sending a Resene colour consultant our way.

We are so happy with the finished result. Painting started on a Wednesday (delayed due to weather) morning and was done by the following Monday. House looks incredible, and we're stoked at how quickly the job got done despite the bad weather.

The boys on the job were great to be around, too. Really lovely and polite."

"We had previously used Painters Inc Ltd to paint the outside of our house back in 2016. We were so impressed with their work that when it came time to redecorate the interior of our home, they were the obvious choice.

They took time to come and visit us on a weekend to talk through our requirements. They gave us advice as to what paint to use and outlined exactly what they would do.

The detail they provided in writing, in as to what materials they would use, was fantastic. They kept in touch throughout the all process giving as updates as and when needed. They completed all the work on time and left our home looking brand new.

We had a problem with some hinges on the door to the master bedroom and also some damage to the front of the door to our study. When we came to inspect the work, they had completed, we found to our surprise they had also sorted the door problems at no extra cost. This was completed unexpected and went beyond what we had agreed.

Fiona and Damian are the most professional people I've ever had the pleasure to deal with and their service is second to none. I cannot recommend them highly enough."

"Painters Inc recently (June 2021) undertook a complete repaint of the interior of our house. With 4 large bedrooms and 3 generous living areas, stairwell etc, this was a major task with preparation and some plastering preceding the actual painting. For a job of this size we vacated the house to give the team room to move. Initial consultation, advice including paint colours, was efficient and helpful. The work was completed in 6 days and was meticulously executed with excellent results. We could leave the house in confidence that the work would proceed with adequate checking from Damain, who consulted with me throughout the project by phone, when necessary. Highly recommended for their high standards, attention to detail and perfomance outcomes. You need to be aware however of the need to complete a lot of hard work beforehand -- moving of everything possible and a lot more besides."

"We knew we had a big problem on our hands and we reached out to several painters including Painters Inc. They gave us the most comprehensive quote and while not the cheapest quote, we felt from the detailed spec the job would be done properly.

Damian surprised us with an earlier time slot to do the job so away we went. We had cedar weatherboards that had originally been stained and then painted over in 2005. It was a mess: rotten boards everywhere. No worries said Damian, we will get our builder Dave to quote you and get this sorted out. And so he did. Special care was given to the boards to ensure minimal seepage of the original stain. I would suggest that if you have a cedar clad house, get some good advice from cedar specialists like Damian and his team.

Damian warmed me a cast of thousands would arrive after a very thorough water blast. And so they did. Ably led by young Mark, our windows were all filmed up and away they went. Had weather and board replacement not intervened, our 2 storey, 4 bed house house would have been easily been completed in a week. Sanded, sealed, prepped the new boards, painted our plaster walls, sanded our front door and made it look brand new.

Polite, tidy, respectful team, great workmanship and excellent advice on appropriate colours from Damian, we are thrilled with the end result. I can’t sing their praises enough. Thank you so much. 8 months on we are still so happy with the result and I’m referring everyone I know to Painters inc."

"Our new home has cedar weatherboards that had never been treated, washed, sealed or painted and were 20 years old. They were extremely dirty and black with mould.

"Painters Inc. Ltd recently completed the painting of the exterior of our house. This was an exceptionally well managed project from start to finish. We were given every detail prior to commencement and the option of two start dates. The project started on time and we were informed of progress daily by the team of painters on site. Damian and his team are a credit to their trade. They were polite, tidy, clearly knew what they were doing and keen to satisfy the customers needs.
When painting the roof, heat was an issue so this was accomplished by working outside of normal hours to achieve the best result and keep to the timetable.

"The Job.

Paint inside bay wooden windows after retro fitted double glazing and side window in 1928 Bungalow
Paint all paintable surfaces in study - including two sets of windows.
Repair cracks in family room ceiling where gib board had moved in large earthquake and repaint ceiling.

Damian arrived with four painters, we briefly spoke and left them to it, they were polite, respectful, and very tidy, they protected our carpet with a clear film and all furniture was covered with clean heavy duty drop cloths, at the end of the day, the house was left tidy and organised, in areas we needed to use, drop cloths were removed, the floor clean of dust and furniture returned to original position. All their gear was left tidy in one room and we could still access thru the room to an adjacent room. We thought the finished work was of a high standard, the bay window wasn’t in great condition unpainted, we were very happy with how they sanded and filled the holes and imperfections and the final finish.

The job took 2 days, Damian came on day 3 to look over the finished work, and made a few touch ups and vacuumed up any residual dust. He left us with the unused paint and did a wee freebie sanding down a French door sill and undercoating for me to complete when dry. Damian and team did a fabulous job, we will use them again and we recommend them without hesitation."

"We did our due diligence and rang around a few places. These guys weren't the cheapest, but they were nearer the less expensive end of the scale. Others that had given cheaper quotes were using paint of a lesser quality or weren't using the right paint for our monolithic clad home. These guys really know there stuff and taught us a lot. They use quality gear, quality paint, they're safe and they do a great job. They communicate well and we always felt like we knew where we stood. After first contact, they arrived at the agreed date & time for initial viewing, then emailed through a detailed quote explaining exactly how the work would be done, and what products they would use. Then prior to painting, they offered helpful advice with respect to paint colour matching.

We booked in about 2 months in advance, they started when planned. Care was taken at every stage of the job, we were kept informed of progress and what to expect next. "We can't recommend these guys enough - highly professional, friendly, and very considerate.
We hired them to repaint the back of our house, which also had several repairs required including holes in the cladding and bleeding nails. The repair work was superb, the paint work beautiful, and the whole thing done in 2 days.

"Damien and Fiona both visited for the scoping of our job and expertly helped us refine our detailed requirements. Their quote arrived within a few days clearly setting out all we needed to know. "I was very pleased with the service I received from Painters Inc Ltd.
Fiona arranged a time with me when she and Damian could come and look at the job. They arrived exactly when they said they would. They looked carefully right around the house and pointed things out to me that would have to be attended to during the painting process, eg, damaged boards. Their quote arrived when they said it would and was so reasonable that I could accept it at once.
I am not interested in house colours and was a bit dismayed when I realised that I would, of course, have to choose some. I found Fiona very understanding about this lack of interest on my part and she kindly gave me suggestions, eg, looking at other houses they had painted, and told me the process, ie, go to Resene, get colour charts, get test pots, and try out the test pots. Fortunately, Fiona and Damian suggested a colour for the soffits etc so I had to choose only 2 colours and Fiona tactfully told me that she thought they would look very nice together ( they do, actually!).
Damian made sure that I understood every step of the process. The house had to be washed and a lot of scaffolding had to be put up. Damian told me why these tasks had to be done and when they would be done.
Damian also kept me fully up to date on the paining timetable. I knew when the painters would be at the house and what they would be doing.
The painters themselves were lovely people, very easy to talk to, considerate of my house, tidy in their work methods, and meticulous in their painting.
While the job was underway, the weather was extremely variable and the earthquakes happened. However, the job proceeded steadily and no time was wasted."

"My house is 20 years old, with colorsteel roof and weathered stained cedar weatherboards. Both products had lasted well but really needed attention. Difficult steep section also. Discussed my general objectives with Damian and Fiona Palmer. Within a few days I received a detailed specification and quotation, in which Painters Inc would act as main contractor (thus saving me from the problems of project managing the scaffolders, and the builder who repaired some cedar weatherboards). We accepted advice to change from stain to a full paint job on the weatherboards. The job ran like clockwork. Cleaning and preparation was thorough, and the standard of painting excellent. Both subcontractors were excellent also. At all times my wife and I were treated courteously. At the end of the job the clean-up was thorough. I am very pleased at the outcome.

For the information of other No Cowboys members, I advise that for our steep section, about 40% of the total job cost was for the scaffold. The builder (engaged on a time and materials basis) cost about 6-7% of the total job cost, and the cleaning, preparation and painting was the balance. I cannot split between the roof and walls because they were not separated in the quote. Initially I was surprised at the cost of the scaffold, but as the job progressed I saw the value of "doing it right" as up to 9 people worked at any one time. It underpinned both safety and the ability to do good quality work."

Preliminary discussions with Fiona and Damian on the best model for our house were enlightening, particularly with respect to preparation technique, colour scheme, paint finish and firm time frames. "Painters Inc did a fabulous job on exterior painting of my house. From the initial appraisal of the house (Damian and Fiona) to the end result, I was impressed with the professional attitude and helpfulness. Communication was excellent, kept informed every step of the way. Scaffolding guys were quick, tidy and personable, and the whole process was completed ahead of schedule (and ahead of the possible arrival of Lusi!). Particularly impressed with tidy site at the end of every day and extra help in choosing appropriate colours. They take pride in the work they do, and rightly so. "If you get a quote and think it is on the high side there is a really good reason. Painters Inc are not cowboys.
The attention to detail, the communication, site-tidiness, safety and work ethic are professional.
It isn't very often I go with the higher quote and then feel like we should have paid more. I don't usually leave ratings like this, but all involved in this business deserve a pat on the back.

"Fiona and Damien were great to deal with: really professional, knowledgeable and helpful.

They completed an exterior housepaint on my 2 story walk-up home on time and quickly.

"We sought a number of quotes for painting the exterior of our Newlands cedar home. Damian & Fiona were the only painters whom we didn\'t feel were trying to pull the wool over our eyes, and the only ones who gave us a detailed quote. We did some reference checking and everyone raved about them.
The cedar weatherboards were in poor condition with some rot. Damian installed new cornerboards and made minor repairs. They were able start the job sooner than we expected and got through it quickly. Our neighbours were so impressed by the team\'s efficiency & quality of work that they have asked Damian for a quote too."
