"I was delighted with the work Shane did for me. I'd been wanting to add a toilet to the second floor of my small townhouse for many years but assumed I didn't have a suitable space. I contacted Shane to see if he could find a solution. "The job was to create the drawings and take the work through the building consent process on our behalf with Auckland Council.
After getting quotes from various builders who hummed and ha'ed over the need for a consent, Shane turned up and quickly identified from our concept drawings that a consent was needed and why. In the initial site visit he walked us through the potential extra costs that council may impose, and offered a professional opinion on whether those cost would be likely to be realised for the scope of work.
Once contracted for the work, Shane conducted a prompt and professional site measure, and then turned around the final concept drawings quickly for our approval.
Detailed drawings and lodgement of the consent were completed within the timeline he had estimated, and the quality of his work pre-consent meant only minor questions were asked by council with no rework needed - consent approved in less than 3 weeks. Whenever we asked for an update he promptly replied with an accurate picture for us.
Would highly recommend Shane for draftsman services, the quality of work is high for the very reasonable price."

We found Shane to be very professional and responsive to emails and phone calls. He was able to recommend an engineer and other contractors who we have found to have reasonable rates and are easy to deal with.

Shane's quote was to support our application to get both resource and building consent through the council, which was no easy task with the council providing him with incorrect information and unnecessary delays. "We approached Paragon Solutions to draw up the plans for our en suite bathroom and help us submit them to council for consent approval.

We spoke to a few "designers" who could help with the design, the drafting and planning, the council submission. They invariably came joined at the hip with a builder in a take one take all arrangement.

We wanted to keep things simple because the job is simple. Not much designing needed with a toilet, shower and sink in an existing room.

We contacted Paragon Solutions and spoke to Shane who was friendly and interested in our job. He offered a reasonable price to draw up the plans we required and helped us submit them to the council for approval.

"We originally posted our internal renovation/new deck job on Builderscrack and were impressed by Shane's quick and professional response. He promptly visited us and prepared a quote. We took the time to consider his quote and found he was very competitive after comparing a few other companies.
His service throughout the as-built and concept drawing process was really good. Always very responsive and was good at communicating the process to us (it was our first renovation experience requiring council consent/detailed drawings).
