The only downside is they left a mess. When they pulled out the windows bits of wood and broken glass left out and not swept up . But they did apologise when I complained. Then when they installed the windows there was a huge amount… of dust left. No drop clothes on the furniture just on the floor and a bit covered on the kitchen bench. Whilst they did vacuum up and I don’t expect them to do a deep clean of the whole house, they could have vacuumed and wiped the bench better. Or even put drop cloths on the furniture or told us it was going to create lots of dust so we might want to cover everything. I did notice when they came round the second time they put cloths on some of the furniture but I think that might have only been because they saw we covered some of our furniture ourselves. Ours was a big retro fit double glazing job that got more complicated as we discovered extra issues with the house - turns out the RB team are enthusiastic problem solvers! Pleasant to have around and very respectful of working in someone's home. The look and feel of the whole house has been transformed. Our retro fit included some… new sashes to change the configuration of the windows - and it was so worth going the extra mile, it really changes the experience of looking out, and makes the most of our view. We spent a long time choosing which glass would best suit our situation - so happy that we went with the Metro Xtreme. Love it. The schlegel weather strip system has proved very effective - we're in a high wind zone, and we're staying snug! There was no problem when the southerly showed up a couple of places where we needed a thicker seal, the guys straight away adjusted what was needed and double checked everything else. All in all, a great job at a very fair price. I rate the integrity of this business very highly - it's been a real pleasure to deal with them. 100%"We normally do all our work inhouse being a carpenter. Due to commitment on another family job my mother wanted to use a glazier to fufill completion by Christmas on her family home that was built by her and my late father.
She wanted to have double glazed units fitted to to the existing single glazed sashes, and I was sceptical to say the least, as we almost always repair single glazed joinery or fit aluminium joinery or inserts
First three firms were a complete waste of time including… Westview Aluminium (good products unprofessional staff)
Rene and Sandra were contracted to replace 32 single glazed sashes and Ranch Slider with double glazed units and to fit custom draft stripping system in 2nd storey with difficult access.
Mum still being unsure was taken by Rene to see work of the same nature being carried out in a house nearby.
Job was quoted and work was started quickly and efficiently, nothing was an issue and all obstacles overcome.
Rene and the team of Casey and John had to complete the task at hand with difficult weather conditions sometimes present.
Rene and the guys were genuine, accommodating and very polite and real conscientious grafters.
They creating a really comfortable environment which was never present, even when the house and joinery were new.
My mother and her home were treated with the utmost respect and always a family type attitude, always leaving it immaculate and typical work debris removed EVERY SINGLE DAY!!!
Workmanship was excellent and any changes were attended to without a problem.
On completion of the job Rene asked me to inspect the complete job and report on any short comings or concerns, and I could not fault the Job, even paint was good and I am a fastidious Tradesman!
No more draughts, condensation, noise and warmth in the house that my mother has never felt.
We were so pleased at the fantastic job and result I asked Rene if he would consider meeting with me to try and overcome serious draft issues with the 50 yr old Ranch Slider frame as a separate job.
Again no sweat for Rene, we met, we discussed, and combined some ideas.
Rene rang discussed, devised a plan of attack and executed it for us! WOW!! what a result and difference!
My mother is not only completely satisfied, but greatful to Rene, Sandra, John, Casey and the rest of the R & B Team for their Advice, Honesty, Communication, Punctuality, Common Decency, Manners, Respect, Problem Solving Attitude, Work Ethic and Workmanship.

Had two old sash windows retro double glazed and also 12 large and small windows in a long bay window replaced. The windows only took a week to be made. The installation took 2 1/2 days in total to complete. The bay window was a bit tricky as a couple of the old frames were not completely level but the guys worked really hard and managed to fix this. 100%"I couldn't recommend R&B Glass & Glazing more highly, and that's saying a lot given I'm a pedantic and practical engineer. I had R&B and one other glazing company work on my property at the same time. R&B did the downstairs, and the other company did the upstairs. While R&B's price was 25% higher, it was so worth it in the quality of the job and customer service. The other glazing company did a lousy job, despite touting themselves as being a professional glazing outfit,… with their windows binding, and a massive list of defects which I ended up having to pay to fix. While R&B had some defects, they fixed these to my satisfaction for free, including a cosmetic issue which I'm sure lost them money. Rene and his workers are greater with customer service, had an eye for detail, and really cared about doing a good quality job. Great levels of trust in these guys. 90%"The R&B team double glazed 2 sets of bedroom windows (8 sashes). They also replaced entirely 1 old sash (turned out great) and did work to tidy up the windowsills also. They prepared the windows through to the paint and varnishing stage which I completed prior to the windows being refitted.
The initial communication from Rene and Jordan with quotes and measuring up the job was first rate and couldn't be faulted. They weren't the cheapest quote (job came to $15.5K) but they were organised… and polite.
Overall the job went well but a couple of small issues including with one opening sash being missed (the guys doing the job were working off an old quote) and had to be redone. I also needed to get them back a couple of times to make some fixes where finishing was a little rough (which they always did willingly). Also the sanding of the windowsills created a lot of dust which got everywhere in the bedrooms and needed to be cleaned up and I think could've been avoided by using a drop sheet as a screen.

98%"This was the fourth job we've had R&B Glass here for and again the experience has been completely professional.
The installation method has improved over time, leaving us with timber-framed windows that look as if they were built with double-glazing units originally. Draught seals work best if the gaps are even - so next time we'd insist on replacing any doors and sashes that have warped over time, rather than having the guys try to seal uneven gaps (which they have still managed to… do).
It's a small company and because its reputation is so good the lead times are long. However once they said they were going to do the work, they arrived with a full team, and returned every day until the job was complete.
Having previously had a warranty issue with one glazing unit we have confidence they also stand behind their work.

93%"We contacted R&B Glass in September 2019 and asked them to double glaze three timber awning sashes while we were having the house painted and had scaffolding up. Quote was competitive, with options clearly explained and lots of information about their approach included.
They were very flexible working around the painters and a few changes in their start date.
Sashes were removed at the agreed time, and they returned a few days later - although only a couple of hours notice for the… return visit was given.

The quality of the glazing was excellent, the frames had been sanded and nicely primed and weather seal was tidily installed. In some cases the screws for the stays had not been fully driven in and were scraping on the stays, but this was easily fixed.

98%"When changing all our windows to double glazed U-PVC, we couldn't find a suitable front door replacement in keeping with our house design (we have an old solid 1930's door that is mostly glass with an unusual art-deco'esq design with colonial bars). For the same price as a new double glazed door, R&B Glass restored our old door, fitted it with a huge double glazed unit, recreated the art-deco colonial bar design, and installed suitable weather seals to make for an air tight closure. A much… better outcome than installing a new door.
The guys that installed and removed the door were friendly and tidy. They were happy to fill up old keyholes and dings. They kept me in the loop with everything they did (door was warped slightly due to age and the door frame was unusual, therefore weather sealing it wasn't straight forward).
Door was away for a week and a half as we had it stripped and undercoated. They used plywood to plug the hole and we used the backdoor whilst it was away.
In term's of price, we can't comment except it was the same cost as a new door and for us is a much better option. I asked for quotes from 2 other companies, neither of which responded.

100%"We had R&B Glass retro-fit double-glazing to 15 medium size wooden sash windows in our 1920s Gray Young home in Wellington. This included refurbishing and reinstating existing leadlights on the interior of the sashes. They modified and/or replaced at least 3 sashes as part of the job. Great service throughout and we are very pleased with the end result. Rene and his team were very thorough and clear in their assessment and pricing of work to be done, communication throughout the job was… good, and they were conscientious, punctual and tidy during the job. Plywood was fitted to the window cavities while the sashes were taken out and being worked on. A special challenge was presented by our front door which has an elaborate wooden design. Rene devised a way of fitting a single double glazed panel to this door but keeping the look from interior and exterior unchanged. Rene's team also fitted weather stripping to windows and doors to reduce drafts. Painting was completed expediously and to a reasonable standard. Since the job was completed we have noticed a big difference in the overall warmth of the house, but also an elimination of condensation in the bedrooms and a reduction in noise from exterior.
