"Signed contract July last year, till now the job is not completed. Jon will give you a very good impression with lots of promises at the beginning, but they are hardly to be delivered. I need to pay tens of thousands of dollars extra to get my project completed. Be warned, never ever do business with this person, he will totally make you the opposite way of his company slogan "Hassel free". "

"RENOVAR. They seemed professional from the start. I have organised for them on behalf of my aunt to renovate her bathrooms and install ranchslider. I dealt with Laura Hoggan to prepare work and then it was Andrew that organised the tradies. Shoddy work from the get go. They measured ranchslider door 4-5 doors and still came back with incorrect door! Now there's gaping holes between wall and ranchslider and the living room is just left there all exposed. Bathroom is also incomplete with… poor shower installation and vanity still isn't up. The demolition team left holes to the adjoining walls not to mention they crashed the side brick fence that needs repairing.

The only thing that I like about their work was traders tiling work in the bathroom.

Would like to join up with other customers on here to see what we can all do?"

"Has literally broken our home and our family with his lies and thievery.
Fleeced us for $96k right up until the last minute (literally took $9k from us 48 hours before announcing he was liquidating).
The writing was probably on the wall once I challenged several invoices and filed a Notification of Dispute for $17k worth of "variations" without prior communication/authorisation.
Got the impression our request for all future communication to be in writing, that he realised it was… time to bolt......

DO NOT GO NEAR THIS GUY OR HIS BUSINESS."

"We contacted Go Renovate (now "Renovar") last September. We signed a contract with them to start work on February 2016. As of March 2016 the application for building consent hadn't even been started.
We are now into August 2016. Our home is leaking badly and only half the work has been done. This has been an absolute disaster.
Jon Sommers is someone to be very wary of. He has taken two hundred thousand dollars from us for work that simply hasn't been completed. Tradies are now… complaining that he hasn't paid them either.

I have today learnt that several other of Jon Sommer's clients are in a similar position. We are all joining together to file court proceedings against not only Renovar but Jon Sommers personally as he has been extremely reckless and dishonest in the operation of his business. I note that Jon Sommers already has had Court orders against him. I am not at all surprised."

"I contacted Total Renovations to do some alterations at home. Break through the garage wall and install a kitchen/family room and open up the ground floor. Total Renovations became Go Renovate which then became Renovar Ltd.
My job was quoted to take 4 to 6 weeks. At the 6 month mark and still no end in sight I was forced to head to Court to try and get my job finished.
Jon didn't manage to turn up to either of the 2 Court sessions and Renovar was found to be at fault. I presently have an… order for the bailiffs to seize property. All up a very disappointing outcome!

Jon will not answer phone calls - even those from his onsite contractors. He also will not respond to emails

Be warned and stay well away from this company"
