"After initial contact they promptly surveyed and quoted for a relatively small job. Job was finished with one piece that required remedy. Contractor returned to refinish small area. Many contractors would have refused to take this small job but Total Home did not hesitate. Really appreciate the no hassle approach. House is now warmer. "

"There were some complications with this job as I wanted Terralana and not their usual insulation, but Satendra in the office communicated well and sorted things out. The man who came to give the quote came on time and was very efficient, and the man who did the actual installation was polite, nice to deal with, and as far as I can tell did a good job. I've no hesitation in recommending them."

"I engaged Total Insulation (T/A Total House) mid 2013 to review our insulation needs in our 1920’s character home. Their company rep was friendly, polite and knowledgeable throughout the whole process. He visited us on a Saturday which made it quite convenient for us and did an inspection of the ceiling and (at the time thought) the sub-floor.
Overall, the job itself was very well done. I have since been under the house to inspect the quality of work and it is very good. We have noticed an… improvement in the temperature and dampness inside the house as a result of the polythene sheet and insulation underneath. The extra attic insulation has also helped. The product seems to be pretty good and guys installing it appeared to be very skilled and knowledgeable.

I was however disappointed in two areas which could have been handled better I thought.

Firstly, the quote that the company rep gave us was based on what we thought was an inspection of the sub floor however it turned out that he did not actually get right under the house to examine what was required. This led to us having to decide (during the day of installation) whether to pay an extra $1,000 to insulate the sub floor. I believed that this was a genuine mistake however thought that the owner of the company should have taken some of the responsibility for this by agreeing to a small discount (which I asked for). It was after all, a reasonable oversight by his company representative.

Secondly it was disappointing to see unused staples and insulation fluff left around the front and back of our home after the guys had left for the day. It’s just that we have an 18 month old toddler who loves to play outside and this was a hazard waiting to happen. The guys did do a tidy up however must not have seen these hazards. Rows of unused staples and insulation could easily end up in the mouth of a toddler, the consequences of which could be quite severe.

Overall, it was the basics that let this company down in my view. They did do an excellent job of installing their product, the product itself appears to be very good and the guys were friendly and courteous throughout the whole day. I would certainly recommend them to others however just be aware of these minor things. Our home is a lot warmer and dryer as a result."
