Matthew came up with some practical solutions ,eg. how to protect the wood surrounds of a window in the shower. Our house is a polehouse with some challenging design features !

"We were over the moon with Matt and the Urban Edge team's work. We searched around for a reputable firm to carry out some re-waterproofing work of a concrete block wall, and right from the start Urban Edge instilled utter confidence that they knew what to do and that we were in good hands.
They completed the job quickly and efficiently and on budget, which was fantastic. The Auckland Anniversary floods came 3 days later and were the ultimate test, and their handiwork held up beautifully. As… it was, we experienced minor flooding due to another, previously unknown issue that was nothing to do with the work Urban Edge completed for us, and in a minor panic we called up Matt to ask if he could help.

Despite unprecedented conditions he was back the same day (the day of the actual floods) and put together a plan for work to rectify this other issue, which was then completed incredibly quickly, quoted at a very reasonable price and then finished on-budget again.

3 days later again and Cyclone Gabrielle hit... and no further issues whatsoever, either then or ever since. Two major tests of Urban Edge's efforts, and the results spoke for themselves.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone & everyone, and will be going to them for first dibs on future work."

Our project was to build out over an existing leaking flat roof deck (above a rumpus room) with a new living room and to add a new balcony. Matt, Ben and the rest of the team were very professional and great to work with. "Urban Edge came recommended, and I can see why. They are a very professional no fuss outfit. My job was a renovation to replace 2 door & 2 windows. This was a building consent job as a new steel portal had to be installed to replace lintels & for bracing. Urban Edge made it easy - they did what they were supposed to do, when they said they would. We had no problem with materials as Matt had ordered them well ahead of the build start. The key builder Ben, was very experienced,… knowledgable and professional. Ben and his assistants Jack & Ollie were nice guys to have around too."

"Matt and his team were fantastic, they were reliable, friendly and hard working with a high quality of workmanship. Urban Edge built an extension to our house with ensuite, walk in wardrobe and study which included installing a skylight and concrete path. Matt is an outstanding project manager who makes sure everything runs like clockwork. Matt had his team, the roofers, the scaffolding, the tilers, the plumbers, the electricians and the council all sorted to arrive at just the right time to do… what they needed to do. Communication was excellent, finish was great and they were respectful and considerate of our family who were living around them- especially as Covid alert levels were changing. We were very happy with the job done, enjoyed meeting James and the black labs, and would highly recommend them to anyone looking to build or extend. I recommended them to a friend and they did a great job on her deck too."

His work, project management skill and communication throughout the Entire process was always been on point. I've never had to chase up Matt for anything, as a matter of fact he's always been a couple of steps ahead of me. He's fair and honest in the work he does, and goes out of his way to give you good… advice when you're at a decision point.

Matt delivered ~$300k worth of work, which was delivered on time and on budget. I would highly recommend Matt and I will only use Matt if I were to build again."

"If only we had known about Matt snd Urban Edge earlier, we would have been in our home sooner and with more money in the bank.
Urban Edge stepped in when the previous builder had done a poor job and it was apparent that they did not have the staff with the right skills to complete the job.
Every member of Matt's team treated my home with the utmost respect leaving it clean and tidy after each day.
Most importantly, the standard of their work was second to none and of an extremely… high standard.

The pride that they all took in their work was wonderful to see and I loved how they took pleasure in seeing how happy I was when shown their finished work.

If Urban Edge are booked up with work, they are most definitely worth waiting for.

I would use them again in a heartbeat - they are simply awesome."

"Matt and his Team started working for us mid way through 2018 until early 2019. We replaced our existing deck, built retaining walls, fences, and laid concrete on the driveway.
Matt and his team did an amazing job and were experts in everything we required doing. Matt is extremely well networked with other tradies, so bringing in contacts with a digger etc was super easy.
Matt’s team are really respectful of the whole family and don’t mind if littlies are roaming around or interested… in what is going on.

Matt is ultra responsive on all channels of communication, FB, text messages, email, phone calls – he just gets on to everything really quickly. Which made working with him so easy too.

Matt also offered up advise on how to do things – when I fancied giving some things a go myself and I’m extremely grateful for that.

I’d have no hesitation recommending Matt and his team to do any type of building work + Matt is an awesome project manager, which makes life very easy.
