"Booked my car in for tyre replacement through hyperdrive.
They said they do not do bookings when I arrived at the booked time and advised I be there first thing in the morning.
Went back first thing, they said it would take about 30min,went back in 1hour and they still haven't started!
Time wasters if you ask me, avoid at all cost.

"I took my car in to get some WOF repairs done. The brakes needed replacing and the back middle seatbelt was jammed. They held the car for over 2 weeks trying to look for a new seatbelt. I just had a friend over and all he needed to do was take the seatbelt out of the anchor, pull it to its full length and put it back in place. Surely they would check that before making me pay for the seat removal :( :(

They charged me $240 just to get the back seat out of the car when it literally takes 15mins to do, I've tried it with some friends. I feel totally used and disrespected, they just want to make money and if you bring your car in they'll add all the charges they can. I had to haggle down the end price as what they had quoted me at the start (which they said the end price would not go over) was way over the quote.

DONT EVER GO HERE, ANTHONY WILL TALK YOU INTO THINKING YOU HAVE A GOOD DEAL, BUT IN THE END, THE MATH DOESN'T ADD UP.

Honestly, avoid at all costs, can we get this guy to front on fair go!

"Less than impressive, and I'm not confident they did the service properly as I had issues that should have been picked up during the "platinum " service I paid for.
Also they could not fix one simple thing after 2 attempts, I went to rep on and fixed the issue myself in 5 mins.
I don't recommend and I would suggest go elsewhere.
Lastly the front service counter guy is a smart arse and lacks any kind of personality that is suited to a service industry business.
    I won't go back.

    "WORST MECHANICS EVER! BEWARE!

I took my car in to get a silver service ($179)
I was made to pay $500, even though I was not made aware that extra charges would be laid until I arrived to pay. They claimed they couldn't figure out what was wrong with it even though they were told before hand and claim to be experienced mechanics.

I went to pick my car up from the shop they drove it out for me and parked it while I paid my bill.
I tried to start it to leave and it wouldn't start.
I asked for some assistance and they jumped my car with out checking my battery, telling me my battery was fine and I was on my way. In a good mechanics head some alarm bells should've rung that it started 5mins ago then was flat 5mins later.

I tried to start it the next day and it wouldn't start again.

I called the mechanic and they said they would send out a mobile technician to take a look.

The mobile technician said came jumped my car and left then left the car unlocked allday into the night.

My car had been left unlocked and a skateboard was stolen throughout the day into the night sometime.

They never advised me they still had the car keys until I rung them asking where they were? Thinking they were stolen as the technician advised me he would leave them where he picked them up.

Then said they would charge me $80 for the call out fee even though the battery was obviously not fine while it was at the shop and said I was a liar claiming that I said my car was left unlocked by the technician.

    WORST MECHANICS EVER! BEWARE!

"Terrible service. Used the Mobile Mechanic for a pre purchase inspection on a potential car to buy. Scheduled for 10.30am, easy enough. Come 11.45am i get a call from the seller informing me that nobody has turned up yet. I call up Mt Albert Auto to find out whats happening and they tell me the Mobile Mechanic is "probably still at the previous job".. WTF Probably, No phone call to inform me he is running late, luckily the seller wasn't too busy that day? And they cant get a hold of him so no idea when he will actually turn up. He finally turned up about 12.30. The 'report' is the bare minimum information, 3 out of the 7 pages don't actually give any information.

Terrible service I definitely wouldn't recommend..

    "I'm not impressed.

My car was leaking some gearbox oil. So I had their mobile mechanic come and investigate.

They found a fault with a leaking axle seal and they advised to get it replaced. They took it back to their workshop to do.

I got it back, a week later, Leaking again. Took it back to their workshop and they replaced again.

A couple of days later. Leaking again! Took it back, replaced with a "tighter" seal. Still leaking! This went back for a third time and it worries me they didn't investigate anything else.

I gave up with these guys and took it to the makes service centre who found the problem within 30 minutes and it wasn't the axle seal, albeit a pricey problem but at least I know what the problem is now.

I can't say whether they knew of the problem and didn't want to raise it or they weren't able to find it. Either or, it doesn't look good on their part and it's a shame as they present themselves very well.

Their communication could use some work . You need to ring and chase before you get any feedback and you will hit different people with varying levels of communication skills.

I feel these guys can do the basics to an acceptable level however anything past that, they will struggle or bluff their way through it.

"I had the oil filter housing replaced in March as the car was leaking oil. Poor workmanship meant it was re-fixed a month later.

In June I had the rocket cover gasket replaced due to a small leak. The following day car was smoking heavily and went through a tank of oil between Auckland and Taupo. Found that the oil cap "O ring" had been replaced with one that was too small. Had 2 AA repairers and an ex-mechanic confirm that the problem was the ill-fitting part. Managed to get some parts from Repco to get the car back in one piece. Took the car back and had it repaired again. Mt Albert Automotive refused to acknowledge any fault. Claimed o ring was broken (which it clearly was not). No apology given.

Definately do not use these people! Waste of money and time and could possibly cost you your car.

"Lance was great to deal with, he addressed my issues and gave a clear explanation of the costs. A hub cap was broken by one of the mechanics, and after expressing my dissatisfaction with this, Lance offered an entire replacement set as compensation.
A company that obviously cares about customer satisfaction.

"My car nightmare seemed to disappear as soon as I phoned them.
The initial check of the problem was done straight away - quick and efficient. They knew broadly how much it would cost and in the end it came to less than they said.

They also arranged to drop me home after dropping off my car. Very pleasant experience and done on time.

"Having had a lot of bad luck with cars and/or mechanics I have been looking for a mechanic where i felt i wasn\'t been taken for a ride - and i think i\'ve found it! Clear lay-person (but not at all patronising) explanations and an itemised quote made me feel like i knew what was being done and where the money was going. Good communication and all done on time and on budget - plus bonus wine gums!"
