"Darrall arrived ahead of time and completed job to a high standard - he was incredible, he stuck with the job of resurfacing our claw bath on the inside. It was a big job but he got it completed - I was rapped - the finish was so much better than my expectation. Thanks so much Darrall really appreciatrd your professionalism and smile. Maria & Hugh"

"Very poor communication. Still waiting for Ron to resurface a shower tray as part of the warranty period. I have still not had a response to my multiple emails and phone calls since JULY 2019! Managed to get a quote out of him after months of waiting. Meanwhile the bath crack had worsened leaving water spilling into the sub floor. Extremely frustrated. I would look elsewhere. "

    "Save yourself the hassle.
Get someone else to do the job.
They have to be better than Ron. Poor service, bath surface peeling away within 12 months and wanted to charge me to fix it.

"I had my claw foot bath resurfaced about 2 -3 years ago now and have had on going issues with bubbling and splitting on the surface
Ron has returned after a lot of prompting and contact from me - the workmanship the service have been appalling and I am so disappointed by the time someone gets back to me the 5 year warranty will be expired

"Nick from Wellington branch was great. Replied to my enquiry quickly, turned up exactly on time on the day. Was friendly and professional, explained exactly what the process was and gave a detailed explanation of how to care for the bath after the treatment. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend Nick."

"Contracted to mend vanity but no arrival time was given. When I called Darrall he was belligerent and said he could easily turn around and not do the job - so told him not to bother. He responded with telling me to f-off and hung up on me. Obviously doesn't need the work, wouldn't recommend! "

"Initial contact was great, said they would be in my area before the time needed as they had other jobs down here etc etc. After weeks of chasing them up and trying to keep on top of it (Ron was impossible to get a hold of, often taking a week or so to respond) I found out at 1.30PM on the friday the week before the job was due to be done that they wouldnt even be in the area so wouldnt be doing it. Total waste of time, if they were unable to do so and had said initially I could have arranged something else rather than being mucked around for weeks leaving it too late to tee up another company"

"Nick from the Wgtn branch arrived on time and came back to do a touch up where the tape removal had lifted the coating a bit. The bath looks absolutely fantastic, lots of good advice from Nick as to how to care for it and keep it looking pristine. Saved $1000's not having to replace old bath & replace wet walling etc with a builder & plumber's extra costs. Very happy!"

"I had my shower resurfaced by Ron from Mend a bath worst customer service I have every experienced, turned up a week late to do the main resurfacing, took the shower doors away to fix them at home and had them for over two weeks, when he came back to put them back on and do the touch ups he only did half of them and said he would be back the following week to do the remaining touch ups, six weeks later I'm still waiting and he won't return my messages, worst experience ever."

"Nick from the Wellington branch of Mend a Bath resurfaced our old clawfoot bathtub. It had not moved since install and was in a very used condition. Nick turned up when booked and helped to carefully lift the bath through an active construction site and down a set of stairs (Four person lift). He looked after the bath until it was required again. He returned on time and helped lift the bath back into the new bathroom. He returned the original fittings after carefully taking them off and created a new pin to hold one of the claws that was missing. He also supplied a custom colour for the outside of the bath. He provided a possible history for the bath and origin of manufacture which fit in with other items we found in the villa. Very happy with how the bath looks. His quote matched the final price."

    "Very disappointing.
We had a large pink corner bath and decided to have it resurfaced and recoloured rather than purchase a new bath. The advertisment for Mend a Bath stated "Save Money! Save up to 70% when you consider the cost of replacing". WRONG! We were told it would likely cost around $800 (Its a large bath) but it ended up costing $1300. And that was after we had to remove it and deliver it to Nick. We were told it was too big to be done in place. We only went ahead with it because we couldn't find a new one the same shape and thought it would save on the cost of replacing flooring etc around a different shape of bath.

It was only when we got the resurfaced bath home and out of it's protective plastic wrap that we noticed it had a rough 'orange peel' finish.

When we rang Nick to complain we were told it was bigger than he had realised (he had the measurements before the job was agreed), and that he had brushed up against it at some point and had to re-do some of it (not our fault). He didn't appear concerned that we were not happy with the result, only saying it could be polished if we wanted to take it back. Removing it and taking it back would be a major hassle, and we had lost faith in him by this time so this has not happened.

The bath is white, which is a huge improvement but the finish is really disappointing, it was very expensive and the service was not very professional. I would not use Mend a Bath, Wellington again and would certainly not recommend it to anyone.

"Have crack in shower box, mend-a-bath came out and supposedly fixed it. Within a few months enamel started turning orange and lifting. Went back to insure company and they sent him bak out. He mucked sarod round by not turning up on day he said he would, then said I wasn't home, when I ad waited the whole day. When he dd turn up he said because I didn't report it to him that he wouldn't cover it. Fair go here we come. This company is one I definitely would NOT recommend "

"I used Mendabath in Christchurch for a resealing. Ron came in July to price up and said it would be $600 cash. Cash in hand was stated as the only payment method. As I was putting the house on the market, Ron helped by coming on a Sunday in August, just before he went away. The very next day problems occured in a couple of small areas and I left messages for him to call on his return, which he said was 2 weeks later. I phoned at the end of the 2 weeks as heard nothing and learnt he was still on holiday. Had to call a couple more times to learn he was extending holiday and therefore it ended up one month before he came. I continually had to call him, even though he knew there was problems. When he came he spent one hour going over a few patches. Two weeks later problems again with ugly patches all over the bath surface. Left a message - he did not call. Two weeks later I had to leave a very sharp message to get him to call round the next day. He said he would obtain a new surface to use and come round the following week (the week in question ended last friday and he hasn't bothered - yet again - to keep in touch or anything). I paid cash in hand in good faith and its a terrible unprofessional service - what's more in my case this PRODUCT DOES NOT WORK! I would hate anyone to go through this! I'm not used to such unprofessionalism!"

"Built-in bath resurfaced to perfect finish quality thanks to Mend a Bath. Great to see, as a previous firm I used had done a terrible job which was evident immediately, and then they went out of business leaving me in the lurch. On the other hand, Darrall and his team at Mend a Bath were excellent, right from the point of my first phone call enquiry all the way through to final tidy-up. I cannot fault them in any aspect. Highly recommend. "

"Had the Auckland guys out to fix a crack in our bath and inject expandable foam underneath for support after we found out the previous owner had incorrectly installed the bath. Unfortunately I didn\'t catch the name of the guy doing the work but he did a great job and cleared up after himself. He rang in advance to say he was on his way and arrived at the arranged time. Can\'t fault them, have only rated price at mid-level as we didn\'t get any other quotes for comparison so can\'t comment on whether it was good or not. Would definitely recommend them to anyone with a similar problem."

"I had a crack in my toilet fixed. I was not told it was difficult repair at the time it was done. The enamel paint started to flake off so I had the repairman back to redo it. A few months later the paint has started to flake again.
I had Darryl the owner around today and he basically said to me that it was a difficult repair as it wen under the rim and if he fixed it the paint would just flake off again. I asked why wasn\'t I made aware of that beforehand and he just smiled and shook his head. I asked for a partial refund and he said no and there is a risk in repair.

Be aware of this company- I am out $250 dollars and have a flaking toilet. I found him unpleasant to deal with and this company will not stand by their work. As Darryl says \'There are no guarantees\"

"My job was a repair after another contractor had damaged our spa bath while effecting repairs to the ceiling above it. I have rated the price 100% as we paid nothing ourselves and have no information re the price charged to the other contractor. Anything less than 100% I feel is doing Mend-a-bath an injustice. As for the other criteria I am happy to recommend them 100%. Tony"
