Among the items being shipped were family possessions that had been with us for decades and were impossible to replace.
Unfortunately, two chairs from a matching family dining suite were lost during the… international shipment. Moving On packed, labelled, and prepared the inventory for the shipment. During the subsequent investigation, both the international freight forwarder and the European delivery company identified a labelling and inventory error by Moving On as a cause of the loss. The chairs had been packed as multiple packages but recorded under a single inventory line, making them difficult to track through the shipping chain.
"We then spent months working with the shipping and delivery companies involved in an effort to locate the missing items.
What disappointed us most was the lack of communication and support afterwards. Despite being copied into correspondence about the missing items, Moving On provided no assistance with tracing the missing chairs and took months to respond to direct questions about insurance. We received no practical help in resolving the problem, no meaningful proposal to replace the lost items, and no clear acceptance of responsibility.
Losing family possessions is upsetting at the best of times. When those possessions come from a parent's estate, the impact is even greater. We expected a much higher standard of care, communication, and professionalism throughout the process.
Based on our experience, we would not recommend Moving On.
