  "Justin (the owner of this business) advertised in the Western Leader and was doing a tiling job for me. To start with he told me that the quoted price included the tiles, but after I had purchased the tiles (with Justin's approval), he changed his mind, it was only included if I used the ones that he had, but he never told me this. His workmanship was rubbish, he ended up damaging our new flooring, new kitchen bench and breaking light switches and covering part of the light switch boxes with… tile. His communication was appalling, he'd say one thing and do another and when I questioned him about it he'd blame the codeine that he was taking (as his rib kept popping out) and that he didn't know what he was saying at the time! He made comments that he's been upsetting everyone lately and the only one he hasn't managed to upset is his wife. He was suppose to finish on Monday and when I turn up Tuesday he hadn't grouted. When he did turn up he said he was too sore to come back and finish it, I said to him, all it takes is a phone call to let me know, as I had other tradies booked for Tuesday as HE told me to book them for Tuesday as he would be finished by then! The grout is crap, in places there is no grout, the tiles haven't been spaced evenly either. Because of the damage that he did, he told me that he'd do the rest of the job for nothing, which I agreed too, but when it came to getting the house key back, he had changed his mind and threatened to come around and pull all the tiles off the wall! He told me to go F#@k myself, I was a whore, a slut and if I couldn't pay him, then I shouldn't have got him to do the job. He also told me that he has $10k jobs and that he shouldn't have taken my job on and that I'm just a slut and a F#@ken bitch and to go F#@k myself again and he hung up. I ended up contacting the police about his threats and the fact that he was hanging onto my house key, I then rung Justin back and told him that if he steps one foot on the property then I will be taking the matter further and to leave the key in the letterbox. I ended up getting the key back a few days later (had to chase him up for it), but will never ever recommend him to anyone, for someone to speak like that to anyone is just appalling, he's lucky that my husband doesn't know about it.....yet! He's just going to run his business into the ground if he carries on with this type of behaviour and workmanship, and not only that, he may do it to the wrong person one day and he may not be so lucky. And for the record, I paid him half the cost upfront (he requested a cash cheque) and I also paid for the tiles, so I had the money and was willing to pay for the job, if it was done properly and without damage to our property. Maybe this is how they do it in the UK???"

  "These guys took on a bigger job than what they were qualified or able to complete.

  They used the incorrect materials and damaged our property in the process.

  They are unaware of the New Zealand building code.

  I would not recommended this business."
