"Dont know what you guys are moaning about. The voucher deal is awesome. You only have to get the WOF,
the wheel alignment and the radiator done – and you've got your money back! Must be some pretty stupid people out there if they cant work that out. Plus the guys are really friendly – they know this is all about retaining long term
clients and they bend over backwards to make a good impression. Brett the owner is an ace guy and really knows his stuff. They got into fixing a diagnostic… fault with the timing and it was fixed in half an hour – car is running real sweet now. Thoroughly recommend these mechanics!"

"AVOID! My car was given a fake WOF and I was also given a loan car with a fake WOF. Both cars were subsequently failed WOFs elsewhere including brake issues. Poor customer service and had my car for 2 months. DANGEROUS."

"My son recently had his tyres replaced by A1 (not) Auto services. he had to go back twice to get the realignment sorted as the did such a poor job. we also noticed that there was a noise when he turned so he decided to cease driving it untill he found out what the noise was. just as well he did, with further investigating we found 2 of the wheel nuts missing and another that i could undo with my hand. If he had driven to Tekapo from Christchurch as intended we could have been visiting him in… hospital or worse for new year.

I ha e no doubt that the wheel would have sepearted from the car at high speed if he had attempted to drive that distance. They have not offered to do anything other than tell my son to come back after xmas. This is incompetence at the highest level putting peoples lives at risk and is unacceptable. Do not use these Cowboys. There are plenty of other options and we will be taking this further."

Awesome servicing catchup for my Holden Commodore this week at A1auto4services. Got hold of one of their servicing vouchers for $150 and that saved me over $1000 all up – amazing! Really simple and easy and the guys were fantastic – car was only there for four hours and I got so much stuff done that was long overdue. Don't know how they managed it but I must congratulate them on their promotion and servicing. I'm wrapped!

"Fell for their voucher scam - they don't advertise that oil and filters aren't included which I felt was misleading (wouldn't be hard to be up front about this and this is clear everywhere else that advertises services)
As soon as questioned about it, they stop replying to phone calls and emails and even get rude and abusive when you do get them on the phone - not great customer service!
Should have read the reviews beforehand"

"A1 Auto did a WOF on my car and reported that there were issues with the parking brake, wiper blades, lights, one tyre.
The issue with the parking brake made me suspicious because they had done the same repair a year ago and the car had only done 1639 km in that year!
I took it for a WOF to another garage. Not one of A1 Auto reported issues failed! The only thing the car failed the WOF was a cracked power steering wheel belt, which A1 Auto totally missed! They also discovered that the… alternator belt was cracked, so both replaced and the car has its WOF.

Steer clear of A1 Auto, they quote you repairs which are not needed and miss to notice repairs which are needed!"

"Should have read feedback on this joint . The automotive engineer failed my car on rediculous issues has no customer service skills. The car was taken to another garage with the failed work sheet and produced to the engineer who proceeded to test the car long short new warrant on window . Steer clear of this den of vultures you will be burned ."

"First time I have used A1auto4services. Gave them quite a job of trying to find an A/C leak in my 2012 Buick. Master Mechanic was tenacious in finding the problem. Only the cost of pulling the dashboard out stop the process. I appreciated their willingness to find the actual problem, backed up by their findings as they stepped through the troubleshooting. Excellent communication and job was completed in far less time than I expected. I know that in the end, they spent more hours working on my… car than what I paid for in their service. I will definitely use A1 Auto 4 Services for future service."

• Had discussion with Brent – who’s going to fix dents? Claims he didn’t know who/what caused dents while car was in possession

"I went to a different place before, where they told me I had to pay a relatively high price to get the repair on my car done. I refused to leave my car there because I didn't trust them. I took my car, where I've been taking it for years! A1auto4services is the BEST!!! Not only did they take me in after hours, but the manager/owner came out to help me. He performed the services on my car and it has been running AWESOME again. I think A1AUTO4SERVICES is the VERY BEST place I have ever had my car… repairs and maintenance done. They are very professional, friendly, fast and super honest. I trust them blind folded with my car repairs. Top experience, everyone!! "Top notch customer service! Brent made sure I was aware of everything going on as they were preparing to troubleshoot the issues with my car and gave me a realistic estimate on the pricing up front so that there were no surprises. The turnaround was also very quick, plus my car--which has been making some suspect sounds since my last three maintenance cycles with the dealership - is running like a dream. "Got a voucher and it wasn't until it turned up that I realised that I had to pay for oil and parts. I found this misleading. Got a service and had to pay another $150.00 for the oil, which seemed excessive. They told me that the car had the wrong sized wheels and couldn't get a warrant! The car has had the same wheels since new. I had to go to the Ford dealer myself, and they gave me paperwork saying the wheels were fine, genuine Ford parts. They also said that A1 Auto should have known this,… or at least been able to find out without telling me to run all over town to find out myself.Went back to get the warrant they said two wheels were not even round! They wanted me to buy 2 new wheels from them. I demanded my car back, went to my regular garage and had a warrant 30mins later. They are very rude and seem incompetent. Do not go there!"

"Don't know what this guy is on about. Obviously there was additional work, parts and oils required on his car to make it roadworthy and he was not happy about paying the extra over what was offered on the voucher. We are already giving away over a thousand dollars in free servicing to select clients and this guy still bitches about it - you just can't please some people!"

"I'm very disappointed with the experience with A1 Auto 4 Services. I purchased a voucher and only after paying and get it via mail, is when you know that price only included labor and not any products as oil, filters, etc. The offer is misleading.
So I went to have my car's service and WOF. The car is a really well looked after, 5yo, and it has been serviced before regularly without any issue. So surprisingly, it didn't pass the WOF for a number of reasons:
- Front axle problems
- Rear… brakes performance

- Missing mud guard

So I was asked to fix them for $600. "Do it now, or later will cost you more" told me the person behind the counter. I left, of course. Lesson learned.

I went to the place where I use to take my car for service and they checked for me all the "issues", and of course my car was OK, none of them were real.

Indeed, it was more serious, because my car had one of the rear seat belt stalks broken, where one of my children seats. That's a real security issue that the "professionals" of A1 overlooked.

I wrote them with the complaint to the same email where I had all the communication before, but they didn't reply at all."

"Bought a $150 promotion card for $1000 of work. Craig was contact for promotion, BJ now owner, both are rude. Asked for a WoF and brake adjustment on a trailer and a battery test on the car. Was told by the owner they couldnt check brakes on a trailer. This is basically a scam. Failed my WoF based on an inspector being out of date with their legislation around trailer safety chains and breakaway brakes for light trailers, and when i asked for reasons for the failure based on the legislation… they were not cooperative. They will not refund any of my money. I do not trust them to do a good job on any of my vehicles so will not be returning for the rest of the promotion. Absolute waste of time and money. Do NOT go here!"

"I have never been treated so rudely by Craig the manager. When I questioned his promotion and indicated that I felt it was very misleading and could be considered by some to be a scam he then proceeded to verbally abuse me with the most filthy language for 15 mins. The promotion involved purchasing a voucher from his workshop for $150 that theoretically gave you access to $1000 of vehicle servicing however nowhere in the advertising did it mention that the voucher was for labour only and that… there would be considerable additional expenses for all materials used. This guy is a real dirtbag and you would be strongly advised to steer well clear of him."

"A1 Auto did a WOF on my vehicle and reported that there were issues with its parking brake and tires that needed attention and replacement respectively.
I looked up the LTNZ info on WOF: https://vehicleinspection.nzta.govt.nz/virms/in-service-wof-and-cof/general/tyres,-wheels-and-hubs/tyres-and-wheels
I also carefully tested my parking brake repeatedly on steep inclines. It worked fine. There didn't appear to be any valid reasons for A1 Auto's negative report regarding my tires and… parking brakes.

Acting on the advice of the Automobile Association, I took my vehicle to a reputable WOF station and true enough, the two supposed problems were NOT identified. It Passed easily. No issues with the car were reported at all.

Draw your own conclusions about this place. Beware of A1 Auto 4 Service."

"I had a fantastic experience at a1 auto not only was i having one of the worst days of my life with my car craping itself and my boss giving me a hell of alot of grief for it,i was rescued by a straping hero of a guy from state roadside rescue who recomended a1 auto.Not long after they towed my car to ther workshop where i was treated like a princess but not only did they fix my car in record time well i waited with no booking ,they even made me laugh and gave me tea and a piece of cake.I am… now on thier client list which they send me freebys and specials on warrents and servicing and will continue to return ther for as long as i drive

"DO NOT go here - extremely bad service, bad ethics, bad workmanship - they are a complete rip off, and damaged our vehicle. Know of other people also who have been ripped off by these people. Not sure if anyone over 21 even works there as they all seem to be apprentices... the Manager does not keep his word, has extremely bad communication and has no problem pointing the finger at everyone but himself. They gave us a WOF, and did minor repairs, now our car is in pieces and DOES NOT EVEN GO!… Think twice before heading here. And they left us to foot the repairs for their damages!!!!!"
