Bookabin - Rubbish / Skip Bin Hire / Auckland Central

  "Rude service and zero trust with this company! Paid for a 3 day hire, and I politely called them to find out what time on the 3rd day they were collecting bin, I was told “before lunch time”. I assumed that I had at least a couple of hours to finish off all my rubbish into the skip that morning. It was windy and I didn’t want rubbish blown about overnight so I left that to the morning of pickup as It was only half full. Got there early and the bin was gone! Called them to report my… disappointment cos of the misunderstanding and my obvious waste of money, as for the amount of rubbish they took, I could have very well taken the rubbish to the tip myself for less than half the price I paid them! I was then sent a flurry of disrespectful texts from the owner which added to my annnoyance! I had to warn them that I would lodge a complaint of harassment with the Police if they carried on! I was disappointed, disgusted for their rudeness and out of pocket!!! In frustration I did call out their money-hungry mongrel nature! If they don’t make phone calls, I think the customers should be given one phone call at least to advise them the time of collection at least! It’s curtesy. I don’t know, I’ve never dealt with Skips before and I will certainly be more careful if there ever be a next time! The next time, I will look for a company that I can pay on collection day when they come to collect, perhaps I will get better service then. Wished I read reviews before hiring with them as I so wished I had gone with another company."

  "No response from the company to couple of phone calls and emails. They don't display the full teens and conditions. You only find out who the supplier company is once you paid and then they force the suppliers terms and conditions as if you agreed to those. Specifically I got charged for weight excess which was almost as much as the skip. No way for me to know what the weight limit is before paying. ( Weight limit varies between suppliers) Larger skip would have been cheaper than small skip and… the extra weight fees."

  "I booked and paid for a bin over a month before needing it onsite. I discovered a refund had been paid three days before the delivery date after Bookabin’s sub-contractor had advised them they couldn’t supply a bin - without any reason. Bookabin took my order and payment but when their sub-contractor failed it became my problem to find a replacement provider. There is no added value in using Bookabin, find your own provider and deal directly with them as I did. Poor service and I will not… be using them again."

  "I have used Bookabin for a long time due to them apparently offering the best bin prices. No complaint with the service of delivery etc... but I shopped around today and was able to find the size bin I wanted for over $50 less with 3 other companies. So I would say, do shop around - Book a bin isn't necessarily the cheapest - like they promote themselves to be."

  "Absolutely dreadful service. I placed an order for a bin, prepaid, then shortly after received an email from the bin supplier saying my property was too steep for them to access. They had never actually turned up at the house so I have no idea how they could say this. Although I was surprised as I've done a lot of construction and had bins at this property without any issues before. They said a refund would be arranged through bookabin. Bookabin charged me a cancellation fee of $30. They… wouldn't budge on this even though I explained multiple times that bins had been delivered and removed in the past without problems. I will never ever use this site again and will recommend others not to."

  "The website is great, very user friendly. The bin i booked ended up being a company called Provincial Recyclers. I rang Andrew to confirm what time the bin would turn up and was told between 9-11. So I organized my tradesmen around that. The bin didn't turn up until after 1pm and multiple phone calls in which I was repeatedly told 'it'll be there in 20 mins'. This has cost me around $250 in tradesmen's fees as they sat around waiting for the bin. The major downside of this site is that by… paying for everything in advance, you have no recourse when things don't go to plan. I contacted Bookabin who said they would have a word with the supplier, which is nice, but I am still out of pocket thanks to a shoddy supplier."

  "Once the person from Red Bins (Estelle) received our order she was quick to contact me offering an alternative solution in the size of bin we needed which was a cheaper option, and worked perfectly: The driver also dropped the bin in such a way that it was much easier to load than I had requested

  "A fantastic website and great service!! we have booked about 3 bins at different times and for different things and every time it has been a pleasure!! our street and driveway are very difficult to place a bin but each time the driver was fantastic and knew what he was doing! I was also surprised at the price, it was such good value for money. Highly recommend the book a bin website and the guys from Tag Bins are great! Thanks =)"

  "wasn't happy with service, we live in the nice area of town and a skip turned up with tag all over it. It wasn't a pretty site.. driver also drove on our grass and left a tyre mark 20 cm deep.. I recomend dealing with a company direct and not ordering through an online database."
